What Im trying to say is that if a particular student got the following grades

English : E8

Maths : A1

Chinese: B4

Science : B4

DNT : C5

Combined Humanities : B4

He/She has a strong subject but because of English, he/she is unable to progress to Poly and therefore, he/she should retake English while studying at ITE.

The requirement to go to Poly is

1. Cut-Off Points not more than 26 for 5 subjects

2. English Language 1-7 for most courses

3. E-Maths 1-6 for most courses

4. Science 1-6

5. Combined Humanities 1-6

Even if a student scored A2 or B4 etc but didn't do well for the subject mentioned above (English E8 or Maths and Science D7), he/she can't progress to Poly and will have to seek alternative method like going to ITE.

Hello everyone, I received my o level results and I'm pleased to say the least. My raw l1r5 is 9 and after deduction its 7. I have the choice to either go to meridian JC or Victoria JC( -4 for vjc due to affiliation). Tampines JC, however, is 5 minutes from my house and apparently distance is a very important factor in choosing a JC. Any advice on what school to choose? Thanks in advance.

Anyone can help me? I nvr take Amath but i want take H2 math( want to take physics in uni) and go to science stream in jc. Is it possible as i even went to study A math in the holidays. I got only b3 in emath due to many careless mistake and nervous and i am normally in the A1 range in Emath. However i got A1 for combine science . Anyone can advise me on what to do in order to get my desired subject?

Obviously TPJC. Your own determination matters far more than the school environment (for which the difference between these 3 JCs isn't that large in any case). And you'll need every additional minute of sleep you can get. The more (perpetually) sleep deprived you are, the more your studies and A level results will suffer.
