Hello , ive been posted to IJC which iam actually very ok with , but i did not checked enough information about this jc because i was not expecting this jc to be the choice of mine instead of PJ . I checked the website and it stated that in order to take h2 phy u need at least a2 in combined sci which unfortuately i only have a b3 in. In PJ , i talked to the hod and she stated that with a b3 i am able to take h2 phy and h1 chem with h2 maths (I taken amaths). may i ask if anyone who visited ijc asked if i am able to take h2 phy with just a b3 in combined science? my ideal combination is h2 phy h1 chem h2 econs and h1 pw and gp and mt . Thanks !
Hello, i was posted to pj, i wanna ask if econs or geog is better (as in which is more popular)As for ij, i think you should appeal for h2 physics if you really want it, appealing varies from sch to sch, some schs dont allow appeal for subj combi so you should ask the school about it. Besides your score is very close to the minimum score of a2 so you should stand a chance, go for it
econs lah
I see thanks for your advice! Any other guys who know about ij subject combination on b3 combined Phy, h2 phy? Ty
Hello, great people. I just want to start by asking: is it possible to appeal for the same JC/course that you are unsuccessful in getting into in JAE? I took YJC (SC) as my first choice but I was unsuccessful in getting into it. If there are vacancies, I would be glad and be eager to appeal for this course.
By the way, my O level results are as follows:
ELR2B2 = 12; L1R5 = 18 (which is a pity because of my poor performance in Chinese)
English - C5
Combined Humanities (SS, HE) - B3
Elementary Mathematics - A2
Combined Science (Phy, Chem) - A1
Principles of Accounts - A1
Chinese - C6
The reason why I would want to enrol into YJC is because of its flexibility in allowing students to take up H2 subjects (especially in Science stream, which other JCs do not offer this privilege) and I would like to pursue a University course of my liking when I am on my way to choose which course I really prefer (preferably in the Science-related field of course). But when I appeal, can I do it without my CCA? I screwed up in my CCA and got seven (meaning complete) depression (which is D7). I would like to start a new beginning in this institution and hopefully move on to a greater height after the two years.
Do you think that I should appeal or move on to my second choice which is Chemical Engineering in a polytechnic (it offers a good amount of knowledge in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Economics but I would like to also avail myself to General Paper)?
Thank you to those who will reply to my reply to this topic. :)
P.S When will the appeal end? Last time I heard it is by Feb, 5th.
u can appeal with ur impressive sec sch results
teachers'/VP/P testimonials
Hey MisterNoah, just appeal. No harm in doing that. You never know and Poly term has not started yet.
Hi,
if I didn't got called for interview for JPSAE. Does it mean that I don't even need to check whether is my application successful? Is there a case where they did not call us for interview but accepted us?
i really dying to go this course in ngee ann film sound video which had a cop of 12 for 2013 batch. np film media studies cop - 12 (2014) and 11 (2015 but the min requipments is el- c5.and i got a grade lower. c6 one grade one damn grade. 5 marks. i cannot even try dae jpase jae.my result raw - 16 net - 14 cca- a1 el-c6 emath-b3 art-b4 combine humanities- a2 cl - a2
combine sci- b3 poa- b3 you guys might tell me that my score is already quite good and advise me other similar course, there really isnt any. rp has media production but it is not what i wanted.i work my ass off for olevel and i dont want to waste my effort. im this close to be able to go the course.
worst still, my 2014 batch like alot ppl damn smart all the cop for 2015 lower by one mark. now im even further away from my dream course.
please answer my question ; 1) i want to retake only english olevel,i am not going private schools but outside tution, am i a private candiate ?
2) if i home tuition for english olevel, can i apply for dpa? or only sec 4 and sec5 in school can?
3) since DPA looks at mid year results, and my sec4 mid year english was c5. so do i have chance? or would they look at my olevel result i have now? if i were to retake and get a b3 for english, my cop would be raw 13 and 11 for net, but the things is this year cop drop to 11 ...:( my friend scored 13 raw for his olevel 12 for net and he is eligable for film sound video. but the shit is ,he didnt get in. he is a 12 pointer and he couldnt get in. what makes me have a chance even if i scored a lower then a b3 for english. or should i retake two subjects?im so done with emath and poa. i barely pull this two d7 and f9 subject to a b3 ,save me i need some advise
Hi I been posted to np landscape design and horticulture
---> what exactly is this course about? Anyone from there?
i know it's plant science related.
can someone PLEASE tell me how to appeal?
i had already sent in emails but they told me to apply for the JAE appeal exercise which I obviously can't...
HELP PLEASE!! I am REALLY at my wits end.
Anyone in my shoes before and mAnaged to get into a course lower than your aggregate score? What did you all do?
I know my chances are kind of slim now...
Thanks in advance!
I got Media Production and Design in RP (22) but I got ERR2B2 20, after minusing CCA points it's 18.
I didn't get my first choice which is RP's Mass Comm even though the cut off point was 18, I don't understand why.
Anyway I'm deciding to appeal, but someone told me I have to say I want the MPD course as I appeal because if my appeal isn't successful I'll also lose the MPD course ending up courseless. Is that true? Or, what should I do really, if I want to appeal now with a course I don't want?
always take note that there are others who are oso withdrawing and appealing into other courses
depend on ur luck whether they have vacancies or ur portfolio is soooooo impressive tt they are willing to accept more than the quota
My friend got posted to ajc and shes appealing acjc :(. When does the appealing date end?
Hi May I know should I go to poly itself to appeal personally?
Will my chances be higher?
Kinda desperate now!
1 week to appeal

my r4 is a pathetic 18
i wanted so badly to get into sp dmb (16?17?)
can someone PLEASE tell me how to appeal?
i had already sent in emails to sp but they told me to apply for the JAE appeal exercise which I obviously can't...

It's basically a course that involves nature and designing. Using plants to design the environment~~
Careers:
landscape designer,Horticulturist,conservation officer,entrepreneur in plant-related businesses(florists,garden accessories),laboratory technologist in plant science research
Can you apply via JPSAE? Try that first. If you fail, prepare to appeal to NYP or other polys with lower entry requirement, provided that they have a similar course~
Thanks
.
Anyone posted to temasek poly aerospace engineering?
i applied np biz studies first choice
cut off 11
mine is 11
didn't get in.
what are my chances if i appeal?
do people stay put in where they are posted such that my chances are near ZERO?
Just appeal, you have nothing to lose, people dont stay put in where they are posted, there are surely people trying to appeal out too, i think the cop for biz studies dropped to 10 or lower, try appealing, you will be given the chance compared to those who got 12 and higher but also appealing.

COP is based on past year performance and quota
does not mean if u meet u will definitely get in
I got into a JC with less than 10 points, but now I think I chose the wrong stream... I took combined sciences in Sec and thought taking H2 Sciences is too much, so I ended up with H2 Econs, Geog, Math and a H1 Science.
I heard that Econs is pretty much useless in Uni ( and I actually contemplated a lot on whether or not to take it in the first place ).
Geog + Econs doesn't look like a good choice does it...? Seems like an extra load for me to memorize textbooks and essays.
Parents say to "love my choice" but eh I don't know. After seeing a few of my friends taking H2 Sciences despite not getting A1 for Combined Science, I feel like I wasted that opportunity.
Now the subjects I'm taking at H2 are mostly those that I got B3 in. POA sounds like Econs so I'm assuming it's the same.
Anyway can someone clarify with me if this matters at all? I don't plan on getting into a Sci course in Uni, if planning to get into Uni at all lol.
