What are the hints that NYP/TP/RP has accepted your DAE application? I received an army scholarship brochure from NYP regristrar office today after applying on 12 jan 2015. is this a hint?
On a separate note, I would encourage O level grads to go to National Library at Victoria Street or other libraries or surf relevant websites and:
scan through briefly the introductory textbooks of the modules of poly courses / JC subjects to ensure that one likes the nature of the modules / subjects.
Some students chose courses that they found exciting but later they found that the course was not to their interest.
Please consider carefully your choices and appeal if necessary. Do talk to your relatives or older friends who are in the relevant fields / professions.
All the best!

All the best to everyone. Hope you guys get into the courses you want
Hi guys , I'm applying to a jc. May I ask what are the chances of entering a jc where my L1R5 hits right on the JC's cut off point?

I'm also waiting for posting results. But i think how this works is, for instance the school's COP is 13. Those with raw score of 13 would go in first followed by those 13 nett score. The choices you made also affect your chance for instance person A and person B have the same points but A put the school as first choice while B put the school as second choice so A would be considered first.
P.S Correct me if i am wrong :)
yes u are right
Hi! I don't know if I have posted on wrong forum. But can anyone give me the procedure of appealing into JCs after JAE results are out? I have gotten 12 pts and 10 pts after bonus pts. I have applied for
Sajc as 1st choice... I am not sure if I will be able to get into SAJC. So I am thinking if appealing into sajc if I didn't get in.

Only for those with exactly the same scores. Choice of school is not mentioned. Here's the FAQ from MOE's website. http://www.ifaq.gov.sg/MOE/apps/fcd_faqmain.aspx#FAQ_55597
Applicants are posted to a course based on merit first according to their net aggregate scores (taking into account the various bonus points for which the applicants are eligible for). Applicants with better net aggregate scores [with the exception of Nanyang Polytechnic’s Diploma in Nursing (C97) and Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Diploma in Health Sciences (Nursing) (N69)] will be considered for admission first, subject to the availability of vacancies in the selected course. If there is no more vacancy, then the applicant will be considered for their next choice course(s).
In situations where there are two or more applicants with the same net aggregate score vying for the last place in a course, they will be posted based on their citizenship status (i.e. Singapore Citizens, then Singapore Permanent Residents, then International Students). If there is still a tie, say between two Singapore Citizens, the one with the better gross aggregate score will be posted into a course first. If there is still a tie between two citizens with the same gross aggregate scores, then posting into the course will be determined by a computerised ballot where each candidate is given an equal opportunity.
Nervous for the posting :/
posting results will be out on Thu 29 Jan
What time will the posting results be out? Will they send the posting results to everyone at the same time or one by one?

Posting results would be out on 29 Janurary 2015, 9am. I think they will send the posting result to everyone at the same time.
The posting results for the 2015 Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) will be released on Thursday, 29 January 2015, at 9:00 am. Results of the Joint Polytechnic Special Admissions Exercise (JPSAE) will be released on Friday, 30 January 2015, at 9:00 am.
Anybody knows what to wear on the first day of JC, when we report on Friday? Secondary school uniform or secondary school PE t-shirt?
own clothes can lah
Hmm parents need to go or not? Like for admin work or something or buy uniform etc. And from other threads, all say wear secondary school full uniform to report after JAE results release. :X
Wear sec school uniform with neat haircut and proper shoes and socks.
Parents need not go. You are treated as a young adult already.
I think depends on the school bah. Some JC post on their website that the attire is secondary school PE t-shirt .Cause got orientation as well.
New environment, damn nervous sia. :(
Hey guys is it true that if in my JAE choices I put poly from choice 1-6 but put JC from choice 7-9, I will still be slot into JC of choice 7-9? I want to enter poly and my score is lower than the COP. Will I get into a JC instead of a poly?
@omghow yes most prob u will go poly then.
Hi, my name says it all. Scored a net of 9 pts for o levels but i REALLY want to enter ACJC. Went for the open house and noticed that the symphonic band did not have a baritone saxophone player. However, i did not place ACJC in any of my choices since i had already given up hope previously ... But i want to try for appealing despite my dire situation. My preliminary results are stellar and the predicted net o level score for me was 6 . Moreover, this year is the syf year for the school band. I missed the "training" that the band offered to the public as i suay suay needed to go overseas that day. Called up acjc's general office but they said that appealing was hard if i did not put ACJC as any of my choices.
I'm from a silver band but ACJC is a gold with honours band. Would they even consider auditioning me? I don't really mind the training as i have a passion for my instrument. Since the instrument that i'm playing is a crucial wind instrument, it can really change the tone of a band . Can definitely contribute to their standards and not drag down the band.
Any possibilities of appealing with my baritone saxophone playing skills? Replies are much appreciated. As desperate as (Insert word here) now...
I dpnt think you can get into acjc even if you appeal, just saying. Because as you said, you did not put it as one of your choices, and that school many people will try to get in, furthermore, your marks is 3 points away from the highest cop, and the chances are even slimmer, you can try to appeal, but most probably you wont get a place. Dont forget there are many that scored 7,8 and also 9 or even 6 that got rejected but put acjc as their first choice.
