Hello! I need some advices. I scored L1R5 42 in my prelim 1, 29 in my prelim 2. And I'm super scared for my Olevel results. I secured my a1 in Chinese but I'm not sure how my results will be like? Anyone have any experiences or heard anything about the results? Super scared but idk what to do!!
u will know in mid-january
come what may
It also depends on your schools' exam papers standards. Usually students with such L1R5 for prelims score 11-20 for O levels.
You may look at JCs like TPJC, YJC, PJC, JJC, SRJC as potential JCs you can go to.
Need not worry so much. I think you can go to a JC. You may consider poly too.
I am a private Chemistry tutor.
All the best.
Lol you trolling your exams right ! Purposely making your teachers piss off lol . How can you get A1 for MT yet get 42 :o
i also afraid :(
Quite worried about my results this year. This year I retook my O'levels. Last year got a raw L1R4 of 28.
English:C6
M.T:B3
DnT:C5
E.Math:D7
Combined Humanities:D7
Combined Science:D7
POA:D7
Why I retook this year?
1)I did not study much for my O'Levels, last minute cramping , left 2months then start to panick and revise. To make things worse, I don't have much foundation for E.Math,Com.Sci,POA due to too much slacking during sec 3 & 4. In the exam hall all the question is like ???????????
2)I remember my teacher told me this: ''You are capable of doing well, you have much more potential than others, but the way you treat things and cause yourself in this mess makes people look down on you''Decided to give my self another chance to retake as a private candidate. Why I did not go back to school? If I were to retake, I cannot retake POA.(All along wanted to do well in POA, but everything went downhill when slacking too much)
What I did this year and how: Since Feb 2014 had been ''building'' my foundation untill Aug 2014(everyday bit by bit, topic by topic) with topical TYS & schools papers, then left 2months started on Yearly TYS. In the exam room, felt much better than last year(paper is abit difficult) , at least all the paper 70% can do. 30% try to smoke abit. Hope when I get my results this year at least see some improvement. Aiming for business course in poly.
All the best Herbseller. Everyone makes mistakes in his life and it is important to learn from our mistakes and correct them.
Worrying won't help you much...Just enjoy your holidays
enjoy all your holidays and think lesser for now. =)
Haiz i am getting more and more worried ..
As i am from N level stream, it is quite hard for a Sec 5 student . i scored 18 points for my N levels as i slack for the whole year and only studied when exams came .
However when it came to O levels .. i started around 1 month before the exams. I did pretty bad for my prelims and scored 33 points. I believe i can do better for some of my subjects as i did not studied for my prelims and the prelims paper was really hard especially my maths paper 1 which around 3 people passed in my class .
When i took o levels the maths paper 1 was rather easy but when it came to paper 2 i made one or two mistakes and lost a couple of marks . My Combine Sci will most likely get a D7 as i did not prepare much because i was focusing on my Humanities that day(kinda aiming for B3 or A2)
But now i am worried i cannot score enough points to even secure a course in a poly .
My prelim 2 grades are
Eng : D7 (Teacher say can improve on )
Chinese : C6 (Same as my o level chi grade )
DnT :C6 (got F9 for the paper as i was doing coursework)
Maths :F9 (almost passed paper 2 but paper 1 was too hard )
Combine Sci :F9 (100% confused )
Humanties : C6 ( skiped half of SS paper )
afarid not able to make it to poly :(
thinking of retaking certain subjects if i fail my O levels, is it a advisable route ?

thanks but i am really worried .
Spand: You should have realised your mistakes earlier on and prepared more thoroughly. Now is just to hope for the best. Go and play and forget your worries for the time being.
For me, I will seek solace in religion. Others would comfort themselves and believe in themselves.

if results not good, whose fault?
if results very good, whose effort?
too late liao
Don't worry too much! Just remember that you did your best!
I retook my English because I didn't manage to do well for my O level.
Although my COP for O level is better than yours, it is still deemed as a failure as I failed one of my important subjects
Well, I can only say that when you get back your O level results, reflect on what you did throughout 2014 and think of the ways you can have improve on even if you are satisfied with your results.
Mainly, there are 4 subjects you need to do well and they are English , Mathematics , Combined Humanities and Science. With that, you will be able to take care one more (stronger) subject in order to advance to Poly.
