So my results this year is pretty bad. It wasn't that bad when I was taking my N levels and surprisingly, I did quite well. (13 points). I thought I have what it takes to do O levels as everyone was encouraging me to do so. However, things was a lot harder this year.
I lost motivation when I first came into sec 5 because of the change in environment and teachers. I did not study as much as I did before and is constantly getting lazier.
Now 2 weeks before O levels, I worry. I have been failing my humanities from the start of the year because I am really bad at it and my science is also quite bad. Everyone in my class is having troubles with english as well. I have been catching up with my maths and managed to pass for my prelims.
So my question is, will I be able to still have a future if I fail my O levels? I really want to do visual effects and have grown a strong passion for it. Can I go into a private institute and continue my studies? I don't mind going into ITE because I was from the NT stream. But they only have nitec for digital effects(I think thats what the course is called there, correct me if I am wrong). Can I still go into a polytechnic?
I will still try to study for my O levels, but its been hard. I studied hard for my physics and I am still not doing as well as I did before, which was being able to get an A for it. Same with humanities. I am also unable to retake O levels because Im 18 this year.
I am prepared for the worst but my concern is my future. I want to hear your opinions.
when it relli happens then u think abt it
there are options of cos, and u can still go to poly.......
may be a longer route, but u can get there
I know but its hard to stop thinking about it. It was my fault to begin with because I didn't study and I just cant motivation to do so. Passing this O level is a bonus to me because I have a feeling I will fail due to my results honestly and also being afraid that after the O levels, I will be clueless on my next path in life.
change to think abt u passing it
a pessismistic mind will not get u there

16 points isn't too bad, haha. Sadly mdis does not have my course available. I heard 3dsense and cgprotege concentrates on visual effects. Anyone got their takes on these 2 private institutes? I would actually love to study there but then again, only if I fail.

Oh damn, I have to serve NS first. Anyone knows a private institute that has visual effects and does not require me to serve ns first?
Definitely try to do well for your o levels
For science, you can re read the concept with the help of visualisation, especially for physics. Draw out the diagrams
in my opinion, for skills like visual effects, port folio is very important.
I will try to score for o levels. Actually, I do have a portfolio for visual effects and I do videos myself. So hopefully this will help in some way or another.

you can think about re-taking as a private candidate, i know many who did very well.

this is a very risky route... 100% of self-discipline and 101% determination.. Once you get lazy u get the same results. Plus have to spend a BOMB to retake all the subjects.. Gahment dun allow us to go back sec sch to retake unless we retain.

there's one private sch called penciltutor they are offering maths , EL and science for $3000 plus deferment of NS and student ez-link card. However u have to wear their "uniform" with a pencil logo at the front though.
