I'm going to grad from my poly. I studied business IT and I really dislike it. I like arts but initially my parents don't allow me to pick up a art course as they are quite traditional minded, thats why I ended in this course wih 0 passion. I struggled through my poly years and now left with last semester, the internship.
im still very interested in art and now I believe that I really need to go for what I like.. Poly 3 year made me realized that if I don't go for what I like, it's just waste of money and time. I can't get good result with this. I can't imagine myself working in a IT related job and my GPA was just 2+..
so my question is can I go into art school, for a fine arts course with my IT diploma? Since I going for degree, lasalle or nafa is better? Which one is cheaper?
people that are in lasalle or nafa pls help me with it. I'm really keen and hope to get this chance to go for interview..and if I can get to interview, I hope to know how would they interview ppl.
Can anyone help me with this?
got portfolio?
You can always considered combined your IT skills with digital art like visual effects, animation and gaming programming etc : http://www.dneg.com/learning-resources , that will not waste your year in learning IT. If you are interested in make/building craft work, check out this work, you will be interested about it : http://www.cubeecraft.com
Yes portfolio is not a problem.
digital art and fine arts are quite different tho..
.
call u for wat?
I have friends in each of them, they are all great schools!
It shouldn't be a problem enrolling with your diploma. I was from lasalle doing diploma and I had schoolmates in degree program that enrolled into classical piano with a real estate diploma from Ngee Ann Poly. While some others got in with a barely passed A levels results. You just have to perform well during the interview and you should be fine.As for me I got into the course despite needing 1 more C6 for o levels. It's an arts school, not a business IT school with arts
However you might have to start off with an additional foundation year (1st year) if you do get into a lasalle degree program while those students with arts diploma can jump to the 2nd year of the degree program. But there's still a chance to jump to the 2nd year if you do very well for the interview and your portfolio is exceeding impressive.
I'm not sure about nafa tho, but I wish you luck for your interview.
Hi guys, I'm considering to go either NAFA or Lasalle after my 'O' level, I'm currently in secondary 5 right now, I do not have any prior experience in either ballet or contemporary, but since young I've a great passion for dance, is there any advice on the auditions? I'm in the cca of Chinese Dance in my secondary school for the fifth year right now. Thanks!
