Oh hi there everyone :)
I just graduated with a Diploma in Biotechnology (cGPA 3.5) from poly this year and would like to further my studies for a Degree in life sciences. Sadly. i got rejected by NTU and having a tough choice to decide an institution/uni as local uni is out of the question now (NUS impossible, other local uni do not offer intended course). The only choice i have now is getting a Distance learning degree from a private institution.
Two choices i have in mind now is MDIS- biotech awarded by Northumbria Uni UK / biomed awarded by Bradford Uni , and Monash Malaysia. Not considering overseas currently btw.
For MDIS- I will only need 2 years to graduate and with Honours after 1 year exemption.
For Monash and general Australian degrees- i will need 3 years to graduate with Honours instead. (after 1 year exemption)
I would like to hear your opinion :
1. Importance of getting an Honours degree
2. Which university/institution would you recommend. I am really attracted to MDIS because of 1 year shorter duration. As for australian degree , i heard it is only a privilege that you get invited for Honours programme (first class), which is risky if i couldnt achieve that. Besides, its very rare to see a private instituion providing degree programmes with Honours.
I have been rotting for too long, hesitating a lot and browsing so much, but i need updated opinions on this matter. Really hope to hear you sharing as much as possible, thanks <3
Working in biomedical or life science industry is not easy. If you have a normal basic degree or honours degree, you may not proceed far unless you do sales or routine lab work (a little like a lab tech). To do research, you need a real good PhD from a top uni from overseas (not NUS or NTU). Even there is a glass ceiling for Masters degree for local uni grads.
My friend has a life science basic degree from NUS and was working in NUS lab. He is stuck there and the last I heard, he was looking for another job.
Government agencies may not value a MDIS degree that highly, unless your degree is 1st class honours.
Sorry, I cannot answer your other questions. I am talking more about the job prospects of bio grads.
bothbehind the next and truncheons and your various workouts from back some Flash developer most impressive thing to me is providedyoure standing on stage in a relaxed pose and they have wifi taper from thelads down to a small way since T-Rex Muscle small hits and they come out the belowsize symphony watching my back hours invision what I want to fuck on stage really want to have that small waist andget that that have the illusion of being white Vacca such a lot on light switches you cable rows are in T-Rex Muscle intense exercise forthe upper middle fact as you lower the weight you shouldconcentrate on feeling the shoulders being pulled asfar forward as possible rounding the back stretching the last and squeezing the pectoral musclestogether as you pull the handles back focus on integrating the soldiers as farback as possible.

A little tough,without considering overseas.
Easy and less reputable route: Mdis is one possible route, where you can get your bachelor degree. However, you need to go beyond a common degree for research.
Harder route:Monash malaysia.Monash university is reputable. It is reknowned for its biomedical research and expertise.I have researched on the university in Australia through websites and also university books,I received from there.
Monash is improving readily in rankings,it has climbed up to 100.It's life sciences/biomedical programme is outstanding. javascript:mctmp(0);
My biology teacher did life sciences in poly and managed to get a spot in life sciences in nus.>>now he is a teacher

Dear TS:
Have you considered going abroad for studies?
As for local options you still have PSB Academy and EASB. Have you looked into those also?
Actually I've been researching on private schools lately and what I found out is if the school provides degree but can be completed in 2 yrs are not as regconisable as those that study 3 yrs of degree. U should go for the monash one which is 3 yrs. just my opinion if it's wrong anyone out there pls correct me thanks :)
