getting b2 for english??

I always get 50++ for english & my o lvl for eng is coming soon. any tips for scoring well for eng?? my aim is b2. have been reading eng newspaper everyday, dk if it works anot

Just finished 'O's on my part the previous year, as far as I know 'B2' does not exist and shall infer that you mean't 'A2'. For the New Syllabus of 'O' level English that you will be taking, it is the attempted bridge that MOE is trying to create for students to adapt better to General Paper in Junior College, so do not fear as much while you're getting 50+ because the teachers are new to it too as it was only introduced last year to replace the old syllabus.
For Compo, read up as much as you can from other news websites on their different point of views on the issues(ISIS,Ukraine conflict,Ebola etc). Next, you may have heard this before, read up and write other people's composition. It works wonders given the short-span of time you have left. Lastly, for both Compo and Compre, just practice and practice. Theres really not much to say but to be consistent and hardworking from now till 'O's, and maybe you'll get your A.

If you want to write narrative, must describe your characters' actions and feelings very well, or else can only get a pass of 16/17 out of 30.
Would recommend you write expository and bomb all your ideas. Easier to get higher marks for expository.
Paper 2 only can practise to get better and depend on your luck de..

There's no such thing as B2. You mean A2 or B3 isit?
For English, I would agree with TheSoyaz. Read more English Newspapers and follow-up with the current news.
For Paper 1, You can buy editing exercise books. Editing is 10 marks, try to get full marks. Even if you get only a 8, it will pull up ur score quite alot.
And for ur compo, GGliaooo has a good point. But for me I did narrative and its actually do-able coz i was writing about myself. When u write about yourself ur compo of course will be full of emotions
For Paper 2, its really practice. But for the summary when they tell you to take points from, lets say, line 15 to line 42, then make sure you get your info from there only. One foolproof way is to draw a very obvious line at line 15 and another line at line 42. liddat u confirm can see where to get ur points from.
If you don't know what to change the key words to, I rather you don't change. You see ah, Summary total 15 marks (i think... I took the paper last yr, forgot liao) 8 marks for content, 7 marks for ur language. If u try to change ur keywords and changed it into a different meaning, you will lose both content marks and language marks. I rather you copy paste the exact same word and get only the content marks than to lose both.

I did my o's a couple of years back and got an A1. English was really just my forte but it isnt hard to score if you keep in mind the paraphrasing techniques for compre and memorise a couple of narratives. Back when i sat for the paper narratives were the sort of compositions that scored

English is a rather easy topic to score well in. Assuming that you are constantly reading the newspaper, you should have the proper content down already, so whats left is to know how to express yourself and the content you have down properly. This comes in the form of paragraph transitions, structuring and language usage. (Btw there isn't any B2 in O levels.)

Writing on sgforums everyday will definitely help improve English composition. You will benefit more if you use spell-check to polish up the grammar and spelling.

English hor hard to score A1 but easy to pass.
