作文离题?
they cnnot use previous data to decide the moderation
everyyear the moderation is different
how they know whether this yr easy or not? see this yr cohort performance lor
and they only can give reasonable amount of distinction cannot too little or a lot
so i find dat 25% is roughly that amount
the other yrs oso 25-33% liddat
if they give the dist jus by the normal cut off point in sch which is 70,75
then considering this yr paper easiness, 40-50% students can dist liao
and my cher said this yr they nvr change the syllabus it is still 1162
jus dat they r more like engish now wif more impact on language question
the new syllabus is believed to be in 2016??
Wow C5 and B3 , should try retaking since there is much rooms for improvement :o .
they do not cut off at the absolute scores
there is still a formula to calculate T-score based on the cohort performance
this year is the first year based on the new syllabus textbooks
if you remember your åŒå¦ 方大é¹ from sec 1
Hey there guys. Got my MT results 3 days back, but i was afraid to ask for suggestions so i refrained from posting then
I received my results and i got a B3 but a pass for Oral&LC. I was thoroughly shocked as my Oral has never fallen below 38 (Once reaching 44) in my Upper Secondary years while my LC score has always been 16~18 for School LC papers and 2011/12/13 O Level LC Papers given by my teacher in class.
I speak Chinese at home everyday and i was devastated getting a pass for Oral&LC. I screwed my LC paper up after i checked with different sources (friends, teachers, internet) and they had varying answers so my marks for LC is 8~12. Like i said in the previous paragraph, i never once hit lower than 16 for LC before so i was quite worried about the impact LC has on my CL results. (Turns out to be quite serious, eh)
I know i have little chances of advancing to a A2 now, and the fact that i got a B3 with a pass means that i did very well for my P1&P2. i failed my paper 2 during my Chinese MYE (30/70) just before Chinese Os but still managed a B3 as i did relatively well for my Paper 1 and Oral&LC.
Another the thing is that i want to go to a JC and i wish to score as many distinctions as possible for my O Levels
After typing so much, the 2 question i want to ask is 1. Would you recommend me for re-taking Chinese given the current circumstances and 2. Do you know of anyone that has A1/A2 with a Oral&LC pass. I hope you take in time to read my post and tell me your views on my situation. Thank you :D
Eh I wouldn't recommend you to retake , it is already quite difficult to get an A2 with a merit in oral . Unless you screw up paper 1 or 2 then you should consider retaking . Because .......
1) you cannot retake your oral and LC
2) retaking will mean that you now have to compete againest people from Hmt , the bellcurve confirm very hoseh one
but of course ah if you are rich can try your luck and retake lol , maybe they calculate wrong then u get A1 😆😆😆
i agree wif yctleong as getting b3 wif a pass in oral n lc that means ur written paper is very geng one and i think that is the most u can go unless u really score extremely well for ur written paper in ur retake that u can go to distinction zone
so i dun recommand u to retake and i oso wont retake if i were u
ultimately its still ur decision
if u were to retake then u must master ur written paper and yes i did heard from other ppl achieving A1 wif pass and at the same time u cnnot neglect ur other subj(s) oso.
if u concern abt the big picture(L1R4,5) then i advise u nt to retake n spread ur focus on all the other subj becuz at the end of the day ur chinese only can help to minus another 2 points maximum if u were to A1 ur chinese
ur other subj can each minus 1 or 2 pts thus resulting in a lower aggregate score
so choose wisely!!
Eh , guys , I got a question . Combined Humanities is a relevant subject . I know we must pass this subject but must it be used as part of our L1R4 or R5 ?
L1R5 needs combined humanities but L1R4 don't.
If you are not taking subjects such as Higher Art, Higher Music, Malay (Special Programme), Chinese (Special Programme) or Bahasa Indonesia, your L1R5/L1R4 will be:
L1R5
L1 – English/Higher Mother Tongue
R1 – Humanities
R2 – Math/Science
R3 – Humanities/Math/Science
R4 – Any subject (except Religious Knowledge and CCA)
R5 – Any subject (except Religious Knowledge and CCA)
L1R4 (for Millennia Institute)
L1 – English/Higher Mother Tongue
R1 – Humanities/Math/Science
R2 – Humanities/Math/Science
R3 – Any subject or CCA (except Religious
Knowledge)
R4 – Any subject or CCA (except Religious
Knowledge)
For poly courses, Humanities is a relevant subject for ELR2B2-A and ELR2B2-B courses but not for ELR2B2-C and ELR2B2-D courses.
