Hi, I'm 21, just orded and waiting for application results from ntu. Already rejected from nus.
My a level grades are pretty abysmal, PCM/E score is CDE/U with PW B and GP A.
Chances are I'll get rejected by ntu so I have o idea what step to take now.
I have applied for all 3 local unis for the past 2 years with differing courses in hopes of stumbling into one but haven't had any luck.
So I'm wondering if I should shoot for sim or even retake a lvls after all this time or even try for nie since teaching as a profession doesn't seem bad.
I know that I had been irresponsible for my own education so far but ns has really changed my mentality so I hope I can at least pick myself up now if its not too late.
By the way, if I were to retake a levels, would I be able to take it this year and get good results provided I really put in the effort? Is it possible?
I really hope for any response or opinions. Feeling quite lost now.

This will depend on whether you intend to pursue a career in the private or public sector.
If you want to work in the private sector, you can consider proceeding to SIM directly. When you are in SIM, work hard & try graduating with first or second upper honours. I've seen people from SIM securing good jobs in the private sector.
If you intend to get a public sector career, it is better to retake your A'levels and enter a local university.
As for NIE, only pursue that option if you are interested in considering teaching as a career.
not sure ntu or nus, there's this category for 'older' students who have worked 4yrs or more before they continue their education to degree. if u use this to apply, u can ask your boss to write a good testimonial so that u have a higher chance to be accepted by them (of course, provided that u have worked hard in that company).
You can try for SIM.
Teachers have to work 10 -12 hours per day. I wonder if you are prepared for this lifestyle? I was in some Normal classes and it was a real headache (one boy wanted to throw a chair at me when I wanted to teach chem, Lol.....).
Agreed with UltimaOnline to retake A levels. Or you might want to consider to do a Diploma instead.
Meanwhile get a part time job to get by day to day.
