Hi I am currently a NSF in the army who will be ording in dec 2014. Last year i got my A level results which was not really fantastic H2:B for chem and math D for physics... H1: A for geography B for gp
I applied and got into NUS Environmental engineering and NTU biochemical and chemical science, in which I ultimately chose NTU.
However, thought i got into NTU I have been thinking of changing my course, but was unable to due to I,myself not knowing what career path do i desire. I was hoping that i may get some form of idea on whether i should change course and what career path i should pursue after getting some advice from the helpful people here.
Well first i would like to ask , what is the difference between science and engineering? If I get into chemcial sci, how different is it from chemcial engineering?
second, with my grades is it possible to get into chemcial engineering?
Third, should i go for other forms of engineering programs instead of pursuing a science degree?
Fourth, if i pursue science, meaning i stick to my chemcial and
biochemical science course, should i remain in NTU or apply for NUS Sci?
lastly what is the difference between NUS sci and NTU biochemcial engineering course?
I will really appreciate any advice given, thank you.
well, i can't really give good advices and cannot tell you how exactly each courses and what their main career prospects are like. but u can google "nus/ntu igp" to see the grade requirement as a rough guide to how much chance you stand in getting into the course u want.u can also google the respective course modules to see what the courses are about in general.
im going to quickly tell you what i know here . engineering focuses heavily on the applications and processes etc. e.g. for chemical engineering, they learn about how they can make certain chemical productions more efficient.chemical science is just learning chemistry in general and ntu chemical and biological science lies more towards biology.
well, at the end of the day you should go do more research about them and im sure other people around here can give better advice and give answers to ur questions..good luck
My advice? Go and be a chef and appear in TV lah instead of worry which degree to study. Nowsdays keep seeing these cuisine's shows in Mediacorpse until 'sian'. Anyway also read news that degree holder kept having no job and end up doing odd-jobs etc.
And FYI, recently had just watch Tuesday Report show and know that an university graduate decided to take over his father bak kut teh stall business, convert into a shop and work in the kitchen. So you see, even chef are degree holder, so didn't feel too bad about the job!
