Failed O'Level maths can't go into poly?

  Here are my O'level results:

   

  English A2

  Food & Nutrition B3

  Chinese C5

  Combined Humanities C5

  POA D7

  Combined Science (Phy/Chem) E8

  Mathematics E8

  Seeing that I failed my math, I can't get enrolled into a polytechnic. I parents wouldn't allow me to go to ITE so looks like the only route for me is to retake maths. The problem is, I'm in NA so retaking would cause me to lose yet another year. Does anyone know if Republic Poly will accept anyone who got an E8 for maths? I've already tried all ways of appealing, even going down to the school to hand in an appeal letter. But so far I've got no positive results. Anyone has any suggestions? I really need to get into a poly because I've always failed math so I really have no confidence of passing :(

  Hi Nicole!

  I understand your current situation.

  I myself was from the NA stream and I have failed science and maths too! Luckily, it was a D7 or else i would have to waste another year, which i am already slower than those in the express stream.

  Have you tried appealing through DAE?

  If you have not im sorry but you either have to retake maths or enrol into ITE

  Hi,

  It is really unfortunate, as Mathematics is a required subject for most of the courses in polytechnics. It may be a better decision to retake this subject.   Yeah I already tried appealing through JPSAE, DAE...etc. even wrote an appeal letter but I'm not sure if they even opened it :( looks like retaking is the only path for me now. Thanks for your help

  The other option is to takediploma than a degree from a oversea institution by enrolling thru private education institution like Kaplan, MDIS, PSB etc..
