wow, i must be real lucky...i din even have to carry such weight and stay till so late back then it was all about having fun, making friends and building up the body

School life is much more tedious for students now with insane amount of curriculum hours+tuition...too much stress

and this tends to exhaust the children quickly, leaving them no chance to regenerate and gain a breather. unable to cope, their behaviour and mood change quickly, some becoming rebellious, depressive or hate everything around them or become tired of everything

evening really, study so hard, undergo so much stress for what? Majority of us have missed out on the really important subjects we need for our lifetime: 1) Financial knowledge (Compounding interests, Net present value, Inflation, Future value, Stocks, Bonds, Commodities, Depreciation, etc) 2) How to handle stress How much of the knowledge we learnt at school is applied or used? Especially Singapore, we need so much engineers meh? What the mainstream education doing is just attempting to stuff knowledge into the children through lots of means and ways. i don't see any attempt to improve the characters or personalities of the children. This is the failure of the mainstream education. Unfortunately, what's done is done and has become a vicious cycle. Their parents, brought up under the mainstream education system will have little knowledge or means to aid in educating the children in this aspect. No doubt there will be some who are able to help their children on this but the effort is rendered less effective given what the mainstream education system is. Haizzz, Sg education still has some ways to go.

Evening There's a huge cultural difference between an operational squadron and a support squadron. I, from an operational squadron can barely tolerate their mentality and insufficient safety awareness. One example is how they dispose of food. They actually have a trash bag inside the dining room to collect all the food wastes and meal boxes before sealing it up and moving it to the bigger trash container. As it takes time for the trash bag to fill up, the food waste gradually decompose and give off weird and nauseating smell. The smell lingers around the dining room and can be detected a few steps away outside. Opening the windows don't even help, the sunlight coming in makes the stench even worse and yet they can still have their meal inside! I really wonder how they can tahan the nauseating stench. Speaking of the bigger trash container, it overflows at the end of the day and it isn't cleared at all. It doesn't take 5 minutes or even 3 minutes to just dump whatever food waste or meal box into a trash bag OUTSIDE the dining room. Best is just into a black trash container some distance from the building. When the container is full, just seal and dump its content into the bigger trash container. That is much better.

Really, minutes after stepping into their squadron i immediately have a bad feeling of the squadron itself. The faster i finish whatever is required, the better i leave immediately. I don't even want to linger around at all. From the start till the end, the bad feeling is still there. It is a very bad experience, let me tell you.
