  They are more of a defensive one. Not a power to be played with. (they have nuclear weapons.) Who cares about the straving people, because on the international stage, you need either have wealth, resources (oil), superb military or land so that people will respect you.

  You know why Singapore is constantly trying to achieve GDP growth?

  We have no natural resources (no oil! no gas!), no major military (we are NS-based), no land and basically "useless". If we make ourself the centre of the fianicial world, those poeple at the UN will pay attention to us- because we control the money!

  I was reading something about cold war then I came across project MK-ultra.

  MK-ultra is extremely digusting and shocking thing ever done. The thing that made it worse that it was tested on civilians: not POWs, not enemies. It only meant that it can happen to anyone, including you: if you are unlucky enough to be at the same place and the wrong time
