  The homework forum used to have many fun, tricky maths questions range from PSLE, O level to A level posted by forumers.

  Hi,

    Here's one contribution from multivariable calculus.

    A student of mine formed the following system of equations and had difficulty solving it. Use only H2 Maths knowledge to solve it.

    1 - p - 2qx = 0 -- (1)

    -p - 2qy = 0 -- (2)

    2 - p - q = 0 -- (3)

    x + y + z = 1 -- (4)

    x^2 + y^2 + z = 7/4 -- (5)

    Try it, quite fun and sometimes exasperating...
