Science and technology is the foundation to a modern society.
It may be your particular case only where you may not be strong in science subjects.
Many students are yearning to do triple science.
A banning of pure science will indicate a cliff in the sociey. it is like going the downward slope as a society slowly.

I think you are somewhat "fearful" of competition especially in the academic field. You are generalising the cohort to be stressed up due to O levels.Whilst it may be true that pure science may be a struggle and some dropped several subjects in their second year(sec 4),but do consider those who can balance it.
10As? 11As? Those who go the extra mile to take HMT and one extra subject and still can balance. This is especially true and possible but you requires sheer knowledge of the concepts taught above school(tuition),determination with a passion to achieve and hardwork.
You may think it is stressful, but to a well-rounded student, they can still play comp and score these 7As~
if feel stress need to ban then we gotta ban everything.
yeah. everything.

i think pay money(taxes) to the students for them not to take pure science(bribery)
Why ban pure sciences?
The only thing about the Singapore education system is that most educators teach their students the results and not the concepts behind these results.
For example, for A level physics, most students graduate (or even score As) without really understanding how to derive why the centripetal acceleration is directed towards the centre of the circle. Why not anywhere else but the centre? If any parent wants to test the competency of their A level physics tutor, this single question would separate those who really know their stuff and those who don't.
Not sure. Not a high calibre secondary student before. I can only managed one (Chem/Phy) science subject.
