News you still write narrative story?
news
noun
a person, thing, or event considered as a choice subject for journalistic treatment; newsworthy material.
nar·ra·tive [nar-uh-tiv]
noun
1. a story or account of events, experiences, or the like, whether true or fictitious.
2. a book, literary work, etc., containing such a story.
3. the art, technique, or process of narrating: Somerset Maugham was a master of narrative. noun an article reporting news

May I know which perspective are you writing from? It sounds like something you would read in a story book, but not in the news.
should be first person perspective as i was in the story. Basically i wrote a story of me moving to a new area and heard some news of this strange old man talking and laughing aloud. And he was actually just a lonely old man who had lost his lover and he believed he was talking to her. So after i talk with him, i was touched by their story blah blah blah and ending i wrote that we should not assumed before we know the true story.
well...no point crying over spilled milk, since math was the main reason why im not getting into poly. My emath got e8, English was d7. Even if i got e8 for my english i can still use my d7 result but my emath..have to get at least d7 too. In worst case scenario, if i got d7 for both english and math, my l1r4 will be 23. Will that be good enough for poly?
What made you want to approach the old man,he could be potentially dangerous?Did you muster your courage or did curiosity got the better of you?
How does listening to the story relate to the rationalisation of the misassumption of the true story?
It will be better if you mention that, after you are touched, you were spurred into doing an action of what you learnt instead of understanding the story.
From the above,I cannot really tell if you are writing to the topic, you need to answer my questions above, then I can tell if you are on the right track.
Anyways,I am assuming the above results you received are from your preliminaries?
Do not be turned down by prelims, they are just mere yardsticks to O levels. Some schools set the standard of them at a higher level. You seem to me that you are demoralised before taking the math papers.Be optimistic and don't resign to your fate~
L1R4---23
EL 7
Maths 7
Best 3 9(B3 for each or better)
You will have to count on your other subjects to do well. However,do not be disappointed. My friend scored 25 for l1r4 and got into engineering in NP.If you prefer versatility in the courses you can choose with 23,then it will be a better choice for NYP or TP.
u are commenting on a news report?
actually i am a private candidate. The topic i chose was "news". I approach the man because he spoke to me first and i was seized by the desire to know what the old man was doing there, so with all my courage in hand...i approach him. Turn out he was talking to his "death wife". I know we shouldn't write about supernatural stuff but i never mention about it being a true story. It was my choice to keep the story in the realm of reality. In the end i end the story with people should not assume he is a crazy old man before we get our facts right because he is actually just a man who love his wife...sooo is it out of point?
i was afraid of the old man because of the news i heard from the neighbourhood. He was supposedly a werid man with no fixed time and his movement was unpredictable. He also always dresses in black...
death wife?
do u mean dead wife?
yeah..dead* lol
I have an even more creative story for you: I saw a old man laughing in the news and I rushed to look for him since I am an well-known busybody, once I reached the destination, I suddenly saw the old man staring at me blankly, the next time I know, the old man start to jump at me and bite me like I am a Twix (hey you learn a new word!), the next thing you know, the reporter on the scene reported to the camera saying you are another victim from the attack by the walkers and one by one people started to turn....
Later, you are no longer conscience of who you are and as you walking aimlessly, you saw an sheriff with a name badge 'Rick Grimes' and he went toward you and said : "I'm sorry you have turn into this", the next thing, he pointed an revolver toward your temple and you finally get into a long good rest...
THE END

You read too much true singapore ghost stories.
Did you write anything about apparition or just the old man's thoughts?
just the man thoughts...never mention anything about the ghost. He, himself believe he is talking to her.
btw can private candidate use the cca to lower down the l1r4?
Can I still apply for them under Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE)? ....CCA grades of A1-A2 will be given 2 bonus points and grades of B3-C6 will ..... Private candidates [Singapore Citizens (SCs)/Singapore Permanent Residents .... subject to applicants meeting the net L1R5 aggregate of the lowest ranked schools ...
I think you can apply if you have past cca records.Anyway, you ought to be focused on revision instead of staying up till 12am and still using the computer.<My two cents
If your story is targeted at spreading the news that the old man is sentimental and debunking the myth that he is mysterious. You will be relevant.
Hi the eng p1 the letter writing
Can I chose the laptop?
You can try to use the "factual, vocabulary, inferential, etc etc" approach to solve this. This excerpt:
What types of questions can you expect in your English Language Comprehension paper? My analysis of past years’ ‘O’ Level papers suggests that the questions can be generally categorised into seven types:
Sometimes, however, you may find that some questions straddle two categories. For example, you may find a question that can be categorised either as a Use Your Own Words Question or a Language Use Question.
I found this at 100Questions Exam Portal under the GCSE, English section. You can visit the site at:
