I'm new to this forum, not sure if I'm posting under the right topic. If I'm wrong, please correct me :)
Well, I'm not doing very well in YJC right now. I didn't do well for my O levels and this was how I ended up in YJ. I've been doing quite badly for my MYE and CAs. My mid years, I scored
H2 Lit. D
H2 Econs U
H2 History U
H1 Chemistry U
H1 GP B
H1 Chinese. E
As you can see, I am not doing very well. Honestly, I don't know if I am in the right education route. I am in the midst of my promotional exams now, and I don't think I can promote. Econs and History is just too hard for me :/ I am more towards the language type.
For O levels, I scored
English Language B4
Chinese Language B4
Combined humanities(ss,hist.) A2
Combined Science (phy, chem) A2
Literature in English B3
Elementary Maths B4
CCA( Chinese orchestra) A2
L1R5: 19 , after deduction 17
L1R4: 15 , after deduction 13
i wanted to do Film sound and Media at NP, but I am hearing impaired and they do not accept students with hearing deficiency :(( Another alternative would be to do Food and Beverage business at NYP. However, I am not sure if there are any culinary courses in local universities :/ my parents cannot afford to send me overseas .
Also, I live about 1hr + away from my JC, it's really time consuming for me to get to and from school. And after my CCA, which I do not like, I reach back home about 9+ totally drained. I do not have the habit of studying, I really do not know if I should stay on in a JC.
Also, because I lost my hearing 3 years ago, I find it very hard to communicate normally and I tend to be an introvert. If I go to poly, I am not sure if I can make friends or do presentations well. Currently with PW, I am that 'blur' member that doesn't know what's going on.
Well, what should I do?
The atmost important question here is: Where in life do you want to end up at?
Why did you enter a JC then? Is it because of your low scores, or do you like what JC is offering to you? And why did you choose a CCA you do not like? You had a choice, or what?
On your hearing loss, did you get hearing aids? And please don't think that polytechnic is a relaxed and fun school: There are a lot of projects going on and if you sucks at PW [project work], you are not going to fare well in a poly.
Ask yourself what you want. Since you already opened this thread, it is obvious you want to go the poly but your doubts are holding you back.
