Polytechnic GPA

Hi guys, i am new to sgforum. Ok , as the title stated, this post is about gpa in polytechnic. I have currently a year 1 polytechnic student and i just recevied my gpa score for my semester 1. And i only score 3.5 .... =( is it the end of the world?????? T.T

Just continue to work hard and pull up your GPA. Check the NUS/NTU websites to see what GPA to get into the course you want.

Usually first semester GPA will be highest.
After that will keep dropping.
To be honest, the hard truth is that 3.5 is not very high nowadays, cos if you compare those myanmar or philipines or people from other country who going to steal your job after u grad, their GPA is almost 4.
They got study hacks that will ensure their GPA is still 4 even after 3 years. then they get diploma with distinction.
Poly must study smart, leech smart people like foreign talents do project, lab test whatever counted test must score as high as possible, online test do together with smart people get good results.
Sometimes lecturer see the FT give face also give u good marks and opportunities. Maintian good r/s with FTs, next time they will be your contacts to do business, or find gf or others.It is like earning points in game, during easytimes gain many gpa, so during end of year your lec play stunt set never before seen exam paper u got enough GPA to minus.
And yes every class sure got those slackers dun wan go uni, best encourage them to slack, but u study hard, so bell curve is to your advantage. Make friends with them, next time come out employ them work under you.
If you girl wear less during presentation, got high chance get A. If you female, but u wear nicer or have bigger assets than your female lecturer, then maybe wont get A.
If you wear rolex watch while your lecturer only wear casio, maybe exam grade only score C.
Show lec you put in a lot effort, ask somewhat stupid questions sometimes like why is this like this.
Past year paper keep on do, do a few times, ask lec how similar, what chapter will come out, question write this and that will score how many marks, how to score max marks possible

haiz, ok bah. Next semester will work harder xD. because i nv realise that gpa got so important -.- . Ok if i score 3.6 for next sem. how much gpa will i pull up???

To be honest, you must die die score a 4 to see minimal difference.
And must maintain an almost 4 for next few sem if u wan see your GPA pulling up continuously.It is like driving from point A to point B, you drive at 50km/h for first 1/4, then drive at 51km/h for the next half, yes you are faster, but not a lot faster.
You must drive at at least 80km/h for the next half to see some difference.When i was in poly, i thought is easy la, just two sem GPA, add together, divide 2. But not so simple
Not trying to show off(not good enough to show off anyway), but i will share with you my GPA fluctuation. Hope you will understand the importance
Year one
SEM 1 i got a GPA 4
Cumulative GPA is 4.
SEM 2 i got GPA 3.791
Year 1 cumulative GPA dropped from 4 to 3.816Year two
SEM 1 GPA 3.135, never study cos play girl play until got fire and lazy
Cumulative GPA had dropped again from 3.816 to 3.580.SEM2 i decided to buck up, my sem GPA is 3.917
GPA pulled from 3.580 to 3.662
thus, Year 2 cumulative GPA is 3.662As you can see here, scoring 3.917 will only pull up from 3.580 to 3.662, thus i say must keep on score almost 4 consistantly to see difference
Year three
SEM 1 GPA 3.158, never study again
Pulled my cumulative GPA from 3.662 to 3.581
Final SEM GPA 3.750
Cumulative GPA for year 3, pulled from 3.581 to 3.613So i graduated with 3.613, while my myanmar friends and china friends graduated with GPA 4, now studying NUS. I can't blame them for being more hard working than me.
