I just completed my As and i am deciding between this two U for general engineering. Any suggestions?
NUS Engineering: more academically-inclined.
NTU Engineering: more hands-on.
Overall, NUS is rated more highly than NTU worldwide when it comes to engineering.
I am still deciding between this two but i am not sure if i will get accepted. My grades are as follows:
ABC/B
PW:A
Chinese:A
GP:E
I don't have to tell you that your GP grade is a major liability. Ceteris paribus, another guy with a better GP grade will be given higher priority for admission than you. If all the vacancies are filled by the time they reach your application, then, too bad.
Even if you do get in, where NUS is concerned you will be forced to take a foundation English module that you must pass but will otherwise not contribute to your overall point average.
I thought they will give him QET first? If he doesnt get past a certain grade, then he goes for that module?

During my time I remember that it was like this:
B3 and above: no QET
B4 to D7: QET
Below D7: You must take the basic English module.
They might have changed ithe requirement over the years.
But that said, an E for GP is certainly a major liability.
Ya I know the faact that my gp is a major liability.
NUS: GP below C need take QET
NTU: GP below E need take QET
So anyway, NTU vs NUS engineering? some say NTU some say NUS....
NUS Engine is competitve, so I wonder if you can get in with your grades.....
If you go to NTU, how far is it from your home? Are you going to live in hostel all the four years? What CCAs are you taking to ensure you get a place in the hostel?
How about looking at the course structure and course description of both unis?
Go to the Engine faculty of both NUS and NTU and get a feel of both environments?
Are you more hands-on or academically/research inclined?
Ultimately, it is good performance at the unis that give you a job.
Are you fun-loving or the bookish kind?
