hi guys, apologies if there are already similar threads around; i've scoured through most of them but they were mostly a few years back, and i'd like to seek more to-date opinions. also hope that this is the correct section!
i'm more or less sure of wanting to do english lit in uni and then becoming a teacher, but am not that confident of my results...(out tmr) touch wood but, exploring options just in case :/
firstly, may i ask if anyone was from SIM uni english lang and lit? i've checked the website but that course didn't state which school was offering the degree. does that mean there aren't any overseas unis involved in eng lit for SIM uni?
also, i know that MOE recognises SIM uni degrees, but do they actually prefer degrees from local uni alot more? my friend (whose mother works in MOE HQ) told me that NIE would rather take in grads with local degrees/NIE degrees over grads with a degree from SIM etc, is that true? do other public and private companies tend to favour local uni grads as well?
lastly, if say for example i get into social work/real estate (or another degree which doesn't need that good grades) at NUS and don't manage to get into lit, is it possible for me to switch my major halfway if i didn't meet the pre-requisites for lit in the first place? is the criteria for switching your major based on how well you performed in Alevels or other things?
apologies for the flood of questions!
thank you so much in advance all ><
