Normally after you get to kill a manticore, you really don't need to reap the rewards, nor have any significant use for them. The 2nd dag durnick quest gets you 1000 over exp, 5000 gold and 3 gems. i killed it once and i dun know how i killed it. And I escaped once, the rest died terribly...
