  I am about to take my laptop to Sim Lim to wipe all the data from my laptop and I would like to know which shop is cheap and trustworthy! Thanks in advance!

  You just right-click on your Drive C or D and click 'Format', you can erase your data liao, why you want to waste money on Sim Lim unless you want to re-install your Window program.

  reformat data still there cannot totally erase. i want a brand new one

  Oh seems like you have very sensitive information inside your hdd.

  and you are right that it does not erase the data even if you reformat. It just reposition the bit location. Getting a new hdd is the best choice.

  Remember to throw your old HDD into a microwave, high for 8 seconds. Mind the sparks.

  format data can actually be recover

  u can search for software that wipe out data online

  not sure how reliable

  maybe u can do a clean wipe on your hard disk and try recover again and see it work

  There isn't a need to bring the notebook to SL SQ to do that. You will get slaughter.

  You can use Eraser or Darik's Boot And Nuke.

  dismantle hard disk, take out platter, crack it into 2. dispose the 2 halves at differnt dump site.

  you wanna wipe out data, so as to be discrete.

  but when your computer leaves you into the hadns of another party, tehre is no gaurantee of discrete anymor.

   

  esp when you do it at simlim.

  its takes a man with intentions and acquisition of the appropriate software.

  no harddisc is opaque to another even if the data is deleted or corrupted.
