Hi, i went through a lot of googling but still cannot fix this problem and i suddenly remembered about this place which i used to get a lot of help from. Would really need your help.
My internet browsing has been slow recently. A speedtest at speedtest.net and starhubspeedtest shows that i have very high ping(900) and normal dl and ul speed for my infinity fibre broadband.
The other computer on the same router shows like 10 ping. Starhub has already confirmed that the issue is with my computer having also tested using their own laptop. So now i am left on my own since i am using a DIY computer
I do not think it has to do with virus because i have bitdefender running and i even did a deep ssytem scan which returns no problem.
During the beginning of the slow network, i did download and use 2 programs. TCP-z and TCPoptimiser in an attempt to speed up my computer. I do not know if these programs did any inappropriate settings to my computer but yet the reason i had them in the first place is because my browsing was already slow?
I did the speedtest using both firefox and IE9 and they show the same ping problem.
Would really appeciate your help guys.
Thank you for your attention. Truly
Uninstall your TCP softwares and try again.
Those programs are installed they are just run and make changes to your computer. Thing is before i ran it i did a current setting save and after it changed my registry etc and still did not make my netowork faster i reverted the change. So i kinda dont think its a problem.
Btw, i realise that the deep system scan was not done(checked the log) as my computer blue screened halfway. hmm. and just now i did it again same thing happened. But i doubt that has to do with my internet? probably hardrive is bad
would it help if i gave my ipconfig log?
Whenever your internet has gone it is suggestable to check for the connection. I also experienced the same problem with the internet. Then I changed my pc internet connections to ethernet. It has high-speed tramission and noise immunity which helps to increase the speed of net.

Hmm OP,
since the other computer (wifi also?) has no issue, it is most likely an issue on the computer itself.
What sort of network drivers are you using on the problem computer?
Can you try to update them?
Also, check event viewer>windows logs>system>filter current log>check all except "information"
