Many years ago, my laptop went to the paradise for IT products. Today I thought it might be useful if I can retrieve all the datas from my hard-drive. These data aren't important but contain sentimental values like my primary school photos etc.
I definitely won't send my hard drive to data recovery centres because it will cost me a bomb! So I want to try using the adapter first.
Please reply to this thread if you know where can I get hard drive usb adapter. Thank you so much for reading this thread.
Laptops use 2.5" HDDs, so if you have the HDD, all you need is a hard drive enclosure. There are two types, one for IDE drives (older type) and one for SATA (newer type). Make sure you buy the right enclosure. These casings come with instructions on how to install the drive, so no problem there.
They will cost you about $15-$20, from typical computer stores.
I went to Challenger and Best Denki @ Clementi mall and I couldn't find adapter.
Mine is SATA.
$15 to $20~ quite affordable. Do you know any specific store that sell the adapter?

I bought mine from Sim Lim Square. Clementi, a bit hard, cause I can't remember ever seeing a computer shop there. You can try IMM, there are a few shops inside on the 2nd and 3rd floor.
Many years ago should mean your hard disk is an IDE. You can get USB enclosure for external hard drive. It should be available at the accessories shops in Simlim. Just attached your drive to the enclosure and the adaptors are inbuilt with the USB interface.
