the keyboard should work upon connection right?
but it doesnt.
any idea why?
Go to the system control panel, hardware tab. Click on the device
manager button. Click on the + next to keyboard. Delete the entry for
the external keyboard. Reboot.
See if the laptop keyboard acts normal. If so, try the external keyboard again. Windows should reload the drivers.
under control panel, device manager, keyboard i see only standard p/s2 keyboard. you want me to uninstall this, then reboot?
did u install driver or program for that keyboard already?
i plug in the keyboard. thats it.
i thought it'll work just by connecting.
but obviously it isnt working.
u try to install the driver or program 1st then try again to see it works..
i plug in and tried to install the driver but to no avail.
then I'm suspecting that It is the 'USB to PS/2 convertor' which is causing the problem cause not all keyboards/mouse will work with them.
i tihnk so too.
i tried on another laptop and the same problem.
thanks anyway.
np & glad to be of help..
probably a bad keyboard. Try another port
ps thanks for helping 179 :-):-):-):-)
i got myself another keyboard and its working just fine.
Sometimes the PS/2-USB interface adapter is not compatible.
You'll have to hunt down a purple one.
