Logicboard and or graphics card need to be
replaced. Apple gaphics card recall failed for a free upgrade. The
laptop starts up. The video & keyboard are dead. The Hard Drive and
fan are working. The USB has power. The sleep light blinks rapidly when
the lid is almost closed. I have read online that many other have this
same problem. I am hoping someone out there knows about this issue and
has a repair fix for me.As I took it to Techified and they said $1,500
to repair. No thanks.

dual-link DVI functionality, and an antiglare LED-backlit 15.4"

What did Techified dignose the problem as?
If it's graphics card and logic board, it's not worth fixing since technology is so cheap now adays. A better spec-ed windows (i3 processor) notebook can be as low as $600.
For 1.5k you might as well get the Macbook 13.3 inch with almost similar specs at $1348.
Or a macbook pro at $1648.
Are you able to find a logic board for you ?
Let me know, if you want to sell your macbook pro.
Hi,
I've got the early 2008 MBP 15" that is looking to let go.
It's a 2.4GHz model with 4GB RAM and matte screen.
Let me know if you are keen to get it to replace the unit you want.
And it has warranty till Dec 2011 :-)
