Need some advice/recommendations from you guys here in building my 1st pc.Budget is around $1k.Using it for mainly gaming.
What size(casing) you want?
What GPU(graphics) you want? What kind of graphics speed you looking for?
What games you playing?
Is CPU important? i3-2100 if no.
Storage or speed or both? HDD for storage, SSD for speed, Z68 + HDD + speed-for both
Let me think of more.

1.Casing: average sized not too big or small
2. Graphics wise I'm looking for the kind that could run max settings for my games
3.Mainly FPS and some MMORPG called Fiesta Online
4.Storage: 500gb hdd
5. Forgot to add I need a dvd reader/writer
6. CPU : somewhere in the mid range
FPS: What FPS? Blackshot and BC2 have huge differences in terms of hardware demand.
Anyway
i5 2400
Asus P8H61-M LE
2x 2GB KVR1333D3N9
WD Caviar Blue 500GB (Or Hitachi Deskstar 500GB)
Sapphire Radeon HD6870
FSP Aurum AU-400
CM Elite 341 Chassis

Just in case you don't know, there are three sizes of commonly used casing: ITX, mATX and ATX.
Just FYI, the one SBS7484P mentioned is an mATX casing.
Okay.. Then you don't need anything great.
Blackshot runs fine on my 6 year old PC.

Sapphire Radeon HD5770

Windows 7 x64
This is all.
Pretty much overkill for what you'll be doing, but I did factor in the fact that you may be moving on to more demanding games in future, so the HD5770 is there.
You can also pick up the Dell U2311H monitor from PC Themes.
A really unbeatable, excellent monitor for $270. Fully worth.

You need not worry about processing speed. Sandy Bridge processors are very fast. I have a i3 2100 underclock to 1.6GHz 1 core and its still very fast.
For the build, following SBS7484P's will do. For the rest of the budget, you can get a high speed SSD to complement the system.

The above.
I can build you a system like the above, but with an improved cooling system.
Will also include the U2311H; in a package not exceeding $1,500.
Let me know if you're interested.
for online gaming you will need an up to date modem, and a good fst reliable ISP. the rest is history.

Getting an SSD does help too, and for high-end gamers a high-end graphic would be required, at least for now. Intel might take a few more generations for good graphic, while AMD fusion will handle most medium i think.
