And when after u restart the com, u can use it without the same problem appearing???
It only appears when U turn off ur com for sometime?
Sounds like an overclocking problem. Did you overclock any of your components?
If no, could also be a problem with RAM timings etc.

overheating?
no idea...
my com also suffer from something like tat...
Definitely hardware's problem since you did system restore. Try removing your GPU and see if your PC is still able to run(only if your MOBO support onboard graphics) or changing the GPU.
Most likely your graphics card. My Geforce 2 Ti did that when a cap blew.
yesterday it did not hang at all.
hopefully it is ok after system restore.
lets really hope.
hanged 3 times already today.
i had the same problem 10 mths ago. the hp tech came and replaced a new vga card.
does that mean replacing another card wont do any good? my warranty has expired. is it time to buy a new pc?
sianzzzz....
i give up.
my laptop hangs whenever i open a new tab on ie8 running on windows 7.
anyone has a solution to this?
I could build you a new one for a small service fee.
If your HP desktop happens to be the one with the NVIDIA GeForce 9300GS graphics card, then it's probably the GPU acting up.
I do recall a particular line of HP desktops with these cards having all sorts of weird issues. Yours included.
In any case, for your laptop. Use Google Chrome. IE is crap.
Sorry if I sound patronising, I'm just broke as fuck, and rendering my... One and only talent. To earn myself some pocket money. :/
u must be HOT !!!!
so do your lappy

If you actually use any of those browsers, you'll know that the answer is a resounding NO.
I hv the same experience with my old pc.
It hang for no reason. Not blank screen, you surf something eg sgforums and suddenly no cusor and screen hung till I gave up and buy another notebook.
Did many system restore...until I almost went crazy.
anyone here using windows 7?
i using windows 7... the hang sounds like a video card problem... or incompatible with the motherboard... and in all fairness, different browsers have different pros/cons... it's not good to say this is the best... does apple taste better or orange taste better? Well, some people prefer apple some prefer orange... get the one whichever you like but don't call it the best... some prefer mac some prefer windows...
do you have problems with brightness? the screen dims after some time. i want to set it brighter.
Stop. Are we talking about a laptop or desktop here?
