Hi,
I need a DIY PC. I'm not good at it but i know alittle bit of what i want and i am thinking if anyone can help me build a machine? I only need the PC only not the full set cos i'm gonna use my old LCDs and speakers. My budget $500 - $ 650.
- MotherBoard
- Graphic Card (1GB)
- RAM (4GB)
- Intel i3 Processor or any AMD close to Intel i3
- Western Digital HDD 500GB or any that is cheap and reliable
- PC Case with or without power supply
- Power Supply
These are the stuffs i'm looking at but not sure what exactly which type to get as there are many types. Thanks in advance if anyone is kind enough to recommend me or build it for me. We can go buy stuffs together if needed..
Appreciate your time reading. Thanks.
1. Please state uses of the CPU.
2. Does the processor matter?
My assumption for now:
If processor doesn't matter, you could go for a i3 2100.
GA-H67MA-UD2H-B3 + i3 2100 = 353
Kingston 4GB = 55
Hard Disk ~ 80-100(2.5inch) (3.5inch if possible; cheaper)
Cheap casing with PSU ~ 50??
Palit GT 430 = 99
Above is a rough estimate, actual price may depend on what you actually choose when buying.
Hi zShino.
If you're only getting it for casual gaming, an i3 should be enough. And i3 sandy bridge has onboard graphics.
MOBO + CPU.=Gigabyte H61M-D2 and i3 2100. Do make sure that the board is B3 stepping. Price = $253
Graphics card : Sapphire/XFX HD 6450. I could play L4D2 at my max settings with my 5450 so 6450 shouldn't have a problem. Price = $78
RAM : Kingston DDR3 1333MHz 2x2GB. Price = $56.( 2x2GB is better than 1x4GB as your board and cpu supports Dual Channel Memory.)
HDD : WD 500GB Blue. Price = $55
Case : Any Cooler Master case will fit everything inside.Price range should be $60~$80. Eg. Cooler Master Elite 330/332/333/334/335//341/342/343
PSU : CoolerMaster Power Plus 460W. Price = $61
Total price : $561. It's well within budget. You can the extra budge to get a better graphics card and PSU.
Before i forget, you will need an OS to boot your PC. So yeah. It should be around 650++.
Hi Call4ljw,
I know what kinda stuffs i want but not sure those exact ones like what processor match what motherboard and etc. It's for casual gaming use.
Hi Overerclocker,
I am looking for a casual gaming machine. Should i print out those stuffs you list and bring it to SLS to buy them? I have Win7.
It's not really necessary to print out everything because the price changes everyday. The important thing is that you know what you're going to buy and then get the pricelist there on the day itself and match the price of the current one with the one on the day itself. Know the prices of them and do check everything is that same as what you paid for.
This is where i got the prices from http://tradepac.com.sg/pricelist250511.pdf.
Ok. Thank you.
CM ePP "460W" @ 61 fail.
Consider these alternatives:
CM Elite Power 400 @ 50
FSP ATX-300 w/APFC @ 35
