Drive E cant read the disc

  i wanted to watch dvd on my pc.

  but the drive keep asking me to insert a disk even though i have already done so.

  any idea how to solve this?

  Can your PC read DVDs in the first place? Maybe it can only read CDs....

  i can see on the control panel indicating my drive e is for dvd.

  Or, also possible that you have watched DVDs on your PC before and it is now region locked.

  put in an audio cd and play it. 

  If it doesn't work, 

  • Try using those cd cleaning discs that clean your optical drive) - never EVER use your hands or cloth to clean the lens
  • Your cd drive is kaput. 

  if it does work check under device manager check if it's a dvd drive.
