My computer is Pentium(R) D CPU 2.66GHz, 2.67GHz, 1.49 GB of RAM
Graphics is Intel(R) G33/31 Express Chipset Family, 384MB
I had a problem playing maplestory as it gets very lag after I login.
Plus, I can't play 720p videos.
In the past, all these can be performed. But one day, when I reformat my OS & reinstall all relevant updates, including driver updates, the troubles appeared.
I need some advice or solutions for my problem.
Thanks in advance
Seems like problem with the graphics, did you install the driver?
or probably some setting which you forgot to put?
Yes. I installed the driver and did updates from intel website. Settings wise I did not know how to do as in the past, my settings were all by default.
You might want to try older versions of the driver if possible.
tried but still the same.
The problem is very broad and might require taking a look at the computer.(eg ; relative that is good at computer)
--> Operating system.
--> All windows updates including service packs
-->Happens after reformatting or before? (how did you reformat - via recovery partition or windows cd?)
-->Why did you reformat.
--> Any bsods/ problems/ beeps before reformat.
Did you change out your power supply?
When you re-installed the OS, did you also clean out the hardware?
E.g. removing the CPU heatsink to clean out dirt.
The issues are likely to be hardware-related, but here are a couple of possibilities that point to a hardware issue.
First and foremost, the power supply could be a piece of utter crap that can't withhold the demands of the CPU.
Second, the CPU may be overheating. Playback of 720p video generates reasonable heat in a system where the CPU is doing all the decoding.
When you removed the heatsink (if you did), did you ensure to clean off the residue of the old thermal paste, and re-apply a new layer?
If you did not, then that may be the issue here.
