Guys, i bought a new acer laptop.
But i am not sure about how to charge it.
When it was bought the battery was 100%.
But after i play need for speed Hotpursuit the battery life became 13%.
i only played for awhile.
Do you all know how to charge it ? Like how long? or how should i charge when i bought it new?
I just plug in my battery, charge it everyday when I power up my pc.
Standard question...
for the first time, charge for 7 to 8 hours.
Subsequently, on a fortnightly basis, used up all your battery power to "died" it, and go for a full charge. This cycle help increasing the battery's life.
Hmmm... Charge it 7 to 8 hours even when the baterry becomes 100% ?

Oh really? I think I better unplug and let the battery run till dead before full charge again.
Because when i charge, the battery becomes 100% very fast... but when i play games like NFS hotpursuit the battery becomes 13%. And that was my first charge for my laptop.

Why not tried again for a full 100% charge? And play nfs again.
If really drop fast, something not right with the battery pack.

yes :-D
turn off your laptop too :) if you're reading 100%, it means your laptop is on....
Okay .
it would be useful if you could tell me the model of the laptop....
didn't you know that you are supposed to charge your battery overnight for the first use? this is to ensure that the Lithium ion are fully mobilised...
maybe the sales guy didn't tell him?

Yeah, but no point, coz you wouldn't want your programs/games to get interrupted by battery having no power.

The sales guy doesn't have to, it's always written in the manual.

Covered under warranty. Just go for 1 for 1 replacement immediately.
However, whether on-site or carry-in support is another question.
Here are a few simple steps.
Step 1 - Charge it overnight the first time.
Step 2 - Charging can commence when the battery level has dropped to 30/40%. Do not charge above this level. Repeated charging over 50% can cause your battery to lose half its capacity. Always observe proper discharge and recharge cycles.
Step 3 - Going abroad for an extended period? Discharge your battery to 40% and then remove it from the laptop. The battery lasts the longest at this percentage. Contrary to popular belief, you should not store it with 100% charge. This will cause premature failure.
Step 4 - In day-to-day usage, the battery does not have to be removed once you're done charging. Leave it in. The laptop disconnects power to the battery automatically once its charge is full. If you download a program like EVEREST, note how it mentions "Power Source: AC Line" once the battery is fully charged.
