Hi moderators, Nel and guys
Supposing I want to surf internet at the fast food, eg Mcdonalds.
How should I go about it? I saw pple using lapbook without any mobile stick.
Is it I need to ask the staff for the link and password?
Can you teach me how? Step by step?
Also, when I was in the library, I also saw pple log in internet via [email protected] somthing like that, do I need to subscribe, do I need to pay monthly fees?
Please advise me.
Thanks everybody!

Hi Jun, supposing now I am at mac and I click on the internet icon, will the internet automatically go to mac web page?
most people are surfing using the Wireless@SG.
Overview
Wireless@SG is a wireless broadband programme developed by IDA as part of its Next Generation National Infocomm Infrastructure initiative. It is run by three local wireless operators - iCELL Network, M1 and SingTel. Users can enjoy free, both indoor and outdoor seamless wireless broadband access with speeds of up to 1 Mbps at public areas.
The targeted users of this wireless broadband network are broadly classified as "people on the move" - people who require wireless broadband access while away from their homes, schools and offices. These include students, tourists, business travellers and enterprise users such as insurance agents and real estate agents who use widely-available and wireless-enabled devices such as notebook PCs and smartphones. Once connected, users will be able to access all Internet-based services e.g. online gaming, web surfing, instant messaging, VoIP and email.
Accessing the Wireless@SG Network
To connect to the Wireless@SG wireless broadband network, a user just needs a WiFi-enabled device, such as a laptop computer or a smartphone, a web browser, and a registered Wireless@SG account. With this registered account, the user is able to roam within any of Wireless@SG's coverage areas, regardless of the operators' network.
Wireless@SG is powered by the network of three wireless operators: iCell, M1 and SingTel. It will be provided free till 31 March 2013.
Coverage Areas
To access Wireless@SG, users need to be located within the respective Wireless@SG coverage areas. Users can view the latest coverage areas here.
To find out more about accessing Wireless@SG network with your device, please access our FAQ section.
For more information, please email [email protected].
Or you can just ask them here.
Btw, are you new to Singapore? (Not being sarcastic, just wondering. Because foreigners/visitors might have to pay to use this service, I think. )

After you select the connection, you click mozilla or internet explorer, it automatically brings you to mac's Terms & Conditions for internet usage website.

Well, it is quite simple. whenever you go to a wi-fi area, use your laptop and search for the connection called " wireless@sg ". Ensure that it is an unsecured network. then, connect to it.
After connection, open your internet browser. Whatever website you go, it should endup at the same page; the log-in page for wireless@sg. If you haven't sign up, click the sign up link. for me, i am using icellwireless account.
For icellwireless account, you will do some adminstraive stuff and finally, they'll ask for your mobile number. Then with the log-in id you chose (should be something something @icellwireless.net) and the password that they sms to you, you can log into the wireless internet through icellwireless already. **Take note that the password cannot be changed. so store it somewhere in your com. Maybe notepad?
You can try other servers. Need not be icellwireless.
