hello guys, i'm trying to get into 25man raids but my laptop keeps having black screens and i think its overheating despite having a cooling pad + fan blowing at laptop. the specifications of my current computer are as follows: Dell manufactured, 2.66ghz, 512mb graphics, 4gig ram, 32bit vista os. i've recently had my computer serviced on warranty so there shouldn't be any dust trapped inside to cause overheating.
to cut the chase, i'd like to purchase a gaming laptop with a budget of approx 2000-2500 bucks. hope it'll have the capacity to run world of warcraft without overheating/lagging. Please recommend some laptops for the above mentioned purpose, thank you. :)
p.s. i5 with solid slate drive preferbly, heard that i7 not much use for gaming purpose...ASUS sounds good! ^^
Maybe you should get a desktop instead.
I've got an ASUS G51Jx. It's now selling for around $2300 or so. It's great, has an i7, has a GTS 360M GPU, 8GB RAM, Blu-Ray drive and a 7200rpm 500GB Hard Disk. I don't know how hot you think overheating is, but this baby goes up to 94 degrees when pushed to the max.
What was the purpose of the servicing? and did the problem happen before servicing?
I doubt they will clear the dust unless you tell them too. Anyways, my laptop can go up to 100 degress with no problem.

Check their Sager laptops. NP5160 is a good starting point, but the NP8160 will handle anything you can throw at a laptop. You can easily add an SSD if you want using the configurator.
That's a large budget.
If mobility is not an important factor, get a desktop instead.
