What are some points I need to take note of when I buy a cooling pad? How to see whether is it durable or not? Also, plastic or aluminimum or metal cooling pad better? Lastly, more fans the better?
hope this helps..

point to take. Cooling balls work too ( don't get the original $18 / 2 pack balls) wait till IT shows / or when you go to simlim to get the pirated copies - $2-$5.
just helps heat disappiate faster. (Hot air rises cool air _____ )
In my opinion some of them are bullshit. The fan runs so slow, it's neligible.
If you want to see fans in action challenger has demostrations of their laptop fans. The one (and i think there's only 1 store) with the widest demostrations of fans would be at funan challenger.. from the cheap $10 fan to the expensive coolmaster ones
I dun believe in cooling pads... the fan power also not strong enuff to make a difference...
However, I believe in aleviting(spelling?) the lappy so there's air current circulating below...

There's where the ball comes into place :P
I always like to shout in the lecture theater - "Alright who took my balls?" or "Stop playing with my balls"

i don't know about pillow or sbs7484p but I do hangout in an empty lecture theater with my mates after lessons to hangout/ blast music/ watch movies/ slack/ do project/ to a lesser extent sleep.
heck! we once even played lan there. my laptop was connected to the projector and everyone was screening me
That's out of topic..
Back to topic.
Those laptop balls ar, they work best on a large flat surface. Lecture theater tables are originally meant to be used as writing pads.. They are too already quite small and the laptop might fall off if the balls are on the laptop.. u just need a push and it will tilt and smash on the ground..

Same, in fact I once proved a cooling pad heated up by itself and provided heat to the hand that touches it.
Like the last time I discussed with my engineers, either improve the cooling systems to the server rack.....
Or shut them all down.
