1. need to check with Asus to be sure. Usually there will be some form of documentation but are also usually useless documentations
2. nowadays, most laptops come with the recovery OS on a hidden partition on the harddrive itself so no more OS CDs. Look for software/button to reset to factory default to confirm.

Register online for warranty.
No CD provided - Windows 7 OOBE is installed on a separate partition.
Use the recovery hotkey if there is a need to restore factory status.
There should be some sheets of paper guiding you on your first use and also, in my case (K42Jr), documentations for the battery (Li-ion), and other random documentations which are unimportant.
