Cannot dlete folder (CRC error)

  I cannot delete a folder. Apparently one of the file (sub folder) inside the folder cannot be deleted. The error prompt reads "cannot delete file due to Cylic Redundancy Error". Google a little and tried using console in windows but cannot. The file is in my E drive (not C drive). How to delete the file without entering windows? As in Safe mode? What if still cannot delete the file how? Need some advice.

   

  Also what are the possible causes of CRC errors? Hardrive failure?

  any help on getting the file to be deleted?

  Do this

  • Go to "My Computer"
  • Right click over the hard disk with your operating system (C drive mostly)
  • Click on "Properties"
  • Followed by the "Tools" tab
  • You should come to a screen where they would ask you for Error Checking. 
  • Click that option (UAC needed) 
  • Tick - Auto fix file system errors, and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors
  • It will come out with an option saying Window is not able to check disc as it's running -Schedule it
  • Restart your PC.

  Afterwards try deleting the file again.

  if that still does not work, download a program call killbox and try to delete folder using killbox

  Okay. will take note of killbox if i do encounter worse problems in deleting files.
