Hi, its me again previously from the Mio problem.
I got another problem , its my porta HDD, bought it from SITEX
Its a Toshiba Art Series 500GB Porta HDD
This kind: http://tinyurl.com/38mr27z
Mine is the white colour de. OK the problem:
Everytime i plug the USB to connect my HDD (Toshiba Porta HDD) to my computer, the HDD will run and then BOOM, my computer got BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death).
It will only happen sometime cuz my Avira will block a file call "autorun.*smething de*".
But when it wont, i get BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death).
Anyone can give me any suggestion to solve this problem?
Thanks,
xXlccporXx
We know what a BSOD is.
Also, disable Autoplay in 'gpedit.msc' and restart before plugging in the HDD.
If the problem still persists, start in Safe Mode, and do a virus scan on the HDD, as it is likely that you have been infected with an autorun virus.
Let's test something.
1. Disable Avira temporarily
2. Insert the HDD
Let us know what happen. Does it still BSOD?

For the autorun virus, i did a research online and found out it was a common HDD virus called: autorun.inf (Source: http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-100957-how-to-delete-auto-run-virus-through-command) i tried the solutions but the commmand prompt gave me: "Could not found autorun.inf"
I am pretty sure that my HDD have been infected by that cuz Avira also blocked the same "autorun.inf".

I will try that but i will assure u that it will happen cuz it happened when i disable Avira for gaming etc. .
And, how do i start safe mode when i boot my computer? What button(s) do i press?
Ok Updates (so fast >.<)
I just plug the USB cord in to my computer and guess what, no BSOD. (this is when i disable my avira)
I will try if when i enable avira, BSOD comes haunting my computer
UPDATES
BSOD occured when i enable Avira~! now 2 problems.... is it Avira's fault or HDD?
I suspect that your HDD may need extra drivers to run, and autorun.inf triggers the installation of the drivers. When Avira blocks it, the drivers can't install and your PC BSOD.
Try this:
1. Disable Avira
2. Plug in your HDD
3. Install whatever software it prompts
4. Unplug your HDD
5. Restart the PC
6. Plug in the HDD (with Avira enabled)
Does it work?
