The saleman show me the Glee, the netbook comes with Words and Excel.
Windows Starter is a scale down version of Windows 7 Home Premium Edition.
You need to check whether the Word and Excel are the trial version.
ASUS netbook comes with Microsoft Office 2007 trial version and Trend Micro Anti virus for one month.
By the way, ASUS R101 netbook with N450, up to 10 hours 6-cell battery, 1 GB memory, Windows 7 Starter, 250 GB harddisk is selling for $399 too in the SITEX and in the SIM LIM square computer shops too.
ASUS R101 netbook vs Glee UW2
N450, (same)
up to 10 hours 6-cell battery, (6 cell battery)
1 GB memory, (same)
Windows 7 Starter, (same)
250 GB harddisk (same)

Seem like both have almost the same specs.

As long as you're comfortable with the price range, just go for it...doesn't really matter.
ASUS is a better brand than Prolink.
i would prefer the brand to have at least some reputation
so tt it's more 安心
u are actually paying for the 安心
I only trust one particular brand of netbooks, Alienware, alright so its not really a netbook, but it is the size of one.
have u tried ebay and phing?
there are ppl selling BN netbooks (either free gift bcos they bought tv or PWP so bery cheap) and they are selling off
I finally bought 2 netbook for $365 each.
Really thanks everybody for all the kind advises and help.
:)
Next question:
1) I am using boardband (singtel), any way to buy any routers so I can surf like wireless internet?
Oh, your singtel broadband modem didn't come with a router, with built in transmitter? If its the mio one, it should.
Originally posted by ditzy:350 won't get me a notebook, I might as well sign plan and get a galaxy tab with that budget.
Galaxy Tab get warm very fast after 1 hour, unless you got an extra pair of thermal gloves to hold it while you're using it.
I am planning to get a external hd....the new netbook I have purchase for solely for working purposes and sg forums and local news. No fanciful of online games etc....cos.....I did not have any anti virus...
Use free anti-virus eg AVG or spend $10 - $15 to buy Mcafee 2010 and install it before 2011 to use it for the year 2011.
I use M1 1 mbps thumbdrive mobile broadband unlimited data for $11.20 per month to access internet outside the home. At home, I use wireless broadband as my home broadband speed is much faster.
Prolink netbook with 3G wireless broadband sells for $429 in SITEX 2010.

Thanks for your information.
I wanted to cut off my home phone (with broadband from sintel) as I usually not at home and yet paying for home phone bills.
And then sign up 2mbps wireless thumbdrive. (less than $20 per month).
Tried to bargain with the saleman for the prolink netbook (3g) at lower price but unable to. Sigh!
