My com cannot boot up...
Keep trying to start up windows then fail, then will start window repair but cannot fix problem.
I've restore once but I forgot to reset the restore point so I now no restore point to restore to...
So confirm is OS problem??? or maybe harddisk got problem?
U have more than 1 hard disk?
If so can install OS to other hard disk .... transfer important files and do reformat of problem hard disk.... but this is last resort.
Got error msg when u load the OS? Usually if dont boot will have msg de.
Kind Regards
Genie
nope... no error msg... just tat window cannot boot up...
even safe mode also cannot go in...
I can still go to all drive and partition using C prompt and still can see all files and directory using the "dir" command...
I think hard disk prob
Any overclocking done?
Anyway, if is OS problem, just insert and boot from OS disk(the disk which you use to install OS), and it'll recover for you.
If not, take out all files first. And install OS again then scan the disk for bad sectors.
If your computer is pre-built and no OS disk, there will be probably will a recovery partition in the disk. See if you can use it, or there probably will be an option to reset to default factory settings.

I planning to buy a OS but I dun wan to buy le then end up not OS problem then waste money on the OS...
Com was given to me and the disc is no where to be found though >___> Getting back a Win 7 OS would be costly...
Anyone know the price range of the Win 7 and it's editions?
You would probably need another hard disk anyway, if you want to keep your files.
In case the problem not with OS, i recommend you to transfer files to another disk then try boot from it.
If not, then the problem is high likely due to OS.
For OS,
use this 2 links to find your license key
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/productkeysactivation/ht/windows-7-key.htm
then download the OS from torrent or some sort.
Got license key can re-use don't need to buy a new OS.
is there a COA sticker on your PC?
Moderator's comments: The ISO links given are legit and legal.
It's illegal to distribute key generators, and cracked ISOs which do not require any CD keys.

The motherboard RAM clipper should be very strong...i doubt it will come loose.
Yours is probably just RAM malfunction...don't take the repairman words 100%.

if ram loose then just push it back into slot tightly no need to change anything
if ram problem and you are using kingston ram, it has lifetime warranty
dont trust shop repair people, better get a knowledgable friend to help
Reset CMOS, try again.
If it still fails, try a HDD checkup in BIOS.
Yea problem could be BIOS..... ive had that a few times..... but I think Acid might have fixed it by now lol
