I would like to ask if we can watch MIO TV without using the Singtel's given modem but our own modem? Reason being I wanna continue using my wireless connection provided by my own wireless modem and not pay the extra $12 for Singtel's wireless modem.
Thanks.

Should be possible. You should be able to connect the ADSL directly to your mio TV set-top box... or was it?
Didn't they give you a modem when you sign up for the line?
Anyway, i believe it should be possible, since MIO TV uses an ethernet connection.

They did give me a modem but it doesnt provide wireless connection. Need to pay additional $12 bucks per month for a wireless modem so I was thinking if I could use my own wireless modem and spare that $12 per month..
Any more replies?
the speedtouch modem is running a customised firmware to allow the miobox network access without interent service
ie - miotv works even without the internet connection as long as your adsl line/miotv service works.
so the answer is no, only Singtel's speedtouch modem can run miotv
even if you are to buy the exact speedtouch modem from thomson (distri), miotv will still not work as it does not have the customised firmware
hope this helps
addition
in case there is any confusion about Singtel's mio service modem, there a 2 brands
1. small basic set from speedtouch without wireless AP
2. bigger advance set from 2wire with wireless AP

I currently use the Speedtouch modem + a Belkin wireless router which works.

Getting a router would cost more than $12 which TS dont want.
Unless he already has a router, getting the wireless modem instead would be more worth it.
If I am not wrong,
If you already have the router AND an existing connection you want to use,
ADSL modem ---wired/via a "Homeplug" .etc---> mio TV STB.
If you want to have the mio TV internet connection via a modem,
ADSL
---> Wireless Router
---> (wired) mio TV
