WIN 7 problem or hardware?

  Hi guys, im having problems with my PC. When i play games, every 1-2 hours the sound freeze and occasionally crash. When the sound froze i can still play the game. just that the sound is stuck. i have to Taskbar and end process, then the sound will stop. But when i enter the game again it will hang. So i have to restart the computer to be able to play the game. It happens to ALL games. Is it the sound card?Most likely but why does it hang when i re-enter the game? windows 7 problem or hardware? Specs: Intel i3-530 HD 5770 4GB RAM Windows 7 Home Premium Need advice guys, thanks.

  seems like a processor (hardware) problem or compatability problem with windows 7.

  Dont mind me asking, what game is this that your are playing?

  Did you overclock your GPU or CPU?

  Try to resit your ram

  Sean29- AC II, MW2, BFBC2, splinter cells convictions. etc etc. MyPillowTalks- i didn't overclock it. How do you resit RAM? latecomerX- updated graphics card, sound card, windows 7. still got problem. i guess i have to go repair shop and do some diagnostics.

  Resitting the ram means to take it out and put it back in, hoping it will fit securly.

  Sometimes a bad hardware will cause the system to hang.

  If you have more than one piece of ram, put one piece in and play the game, if it hangs, take out that piece and try another piece, if it still hangs, ram may not be the problem.

  Then you can resitting the graphics card, or test it with another card to try.

   Sometimes dignostics can be done at home, as long as you have extra compatible parts

  AC II and bfbc2, mw2 has the sound freeze problem. As for splinter cell, every few minutes it will completely froze. Screen hang and no sound. I have to taskbar then resume game it work.(it can resume though) but after minutes again it froze again. Kinda annoying
