I'm thinking of buying an external hard disk drive, either 500gb or 1 tb to store my music and games, and for backup. I don't need portability as the drive will not leave my house, and will at most be used to transfer stuff between my 2 desktops.
Could you guys recommend some good external hard drives to get? I'm probably getting them from PC zone as I am lazy and will probably get cheated at Sim Lim D: Thanks!
Western Digital from Fuwell at 3rd floor. Lift come out turn left i guess. Wont scam one.
Fuwell @ 3rd floor.
Video Pro @ 4th floor.
No scam.
Buy Western Digital. Very good HDD's.
In specific, WD Elements.
Just bought one 500GB 2.5 inch and it doesn't disappoint.
Ahh.. Thanks. I'm a noob at these
stuff D:

Ahh, since you do not have to bring the drive in and out of your house, get the 3.5" Hard disks instead.
They are cheaper for the capacity. A 320gb 2.5" can cost the same as a 500TB 3.5" .
Now, what's the differece between a 2.5 and 3.5 inch.
One difference is that the 2.5 inch hard disk requires no external power source (just power from the USB slots) , while the 3.5 inch hard disk requires a power socket.
Because of the portability factor, the 2.5 inch hard disks and the point that i have stated above, it's generally more expensive / gb.
So if you are out shopping. Get a 3.5 Inch hard disk instead.
out of topic abit, I personally am using a SEAGATE 3.5 Inch desktop, and I'm generally lazy to travel to simlim/ funan to get my drives. So I would just go to challenger / major electronic stores nearby.
I seem to notice that drives have a controlled price as stated by the manufacturers. So it wouldn't cost a major difference (taking into account transportation fees).
If you are getting a drive at IT shows, that's another case all together
