gotta copy wad somebody says...can go the AMD way. let me try digging out some stuff, will post another reply in a few minutes.
Hi, thank for the reply. Any specfic graphic card? I'm thinking of getting a i5-750, is it good enough? or should i go for the i7 1?
actually, do you prefer Intel or AMD?
I am not very sure either, but heard that AMD have shorter lifespan. Is it true?
i5-750 is pretty solid..a package with a mobo will be about 500 only..
Which will be a better mainboard to go with? Is i5-750 the best within i5? Sorry for asking such a silly qn, cause i see that there is 1 that is i5-680 and yet costing more.

nt quite sure. ok. got some stuff based on Intel i5-750, with price quoted from Video Pro's 20 Jun pricelist.
Core i5 750 + MSI P55 GD65
$526
2x2gb OCZ DDR3-1600 Obsidian for i3 and i5 $165
Western Digital Carvier Black 1TB
$145
Samsung SHS223F 22xSATADvD
$30
Seasonic M12ii 620w
$133
Sapphire
5850 $415
CoolerMaster Elite 310
$65
Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM $148
Total
$1627
i think 133 is too ex for a power supply..
TIB1051D, thank for the help. Any idea how much will the powersupply for this cost?
pc theme is probably slightly cheaper..
that is a shop in SLS?
yes..on the 4th or 5th floor..known to be one of the most competitive prices..
Hi,
Motherboard from Gigabyte, or ATI, or Intel, or Asus.........the model....any model which have following spec:
1. can run latest Intel processor
2. can run the latest video card system
3. can run latest RAM system
That is all.
But honestly I think you wont find many games which need such an intense system. Maybe like those shooting games (I forgot the names), but many games actually also have lower requirements.
For me I am still using P4 and still use 8x AGP system. There are indeed some games I cannot play such as Tropico 3.
But nowadays I find that finally, the games which can sustain my interest, are games which have long playability and also have Multiplayer aspect.
Other games may be interesting for a while but then get boring.
Nowadays I am playing DOTA successor, called LoL, League of Legends.
That is an MMO-RTS game.
That one only use very low spec requirement.
I also look forward to StarCraft 2.
(Not sure what the requirement is)
Thank you for the information :)

As long as you treat the processor correctly, both Intel and AMD chips will last a long time. I find AMD RMA services a LOT more convenient though. RMA one day, the next day got a new processor liao.
Also, I would advise the AMD route for now, since the socket the Intel chips use are going to be phased out next year with the introduction of a new socket, which is incompatible with the older socket.
Raraken, is there a built that you will recommend if i go for amd?

Phenom II 955 + MSI 870A-G54 - $384 (Both 3 year warranty, CPU by AMD and mobo by Corbell)
Team Elite 1333MHz 4GB 2x2GB kit - $153 (Lifetime warranty by Corbell)
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB - $145 (5 year warranty, first 3 years by WD, next 2 years by Acheiva)
Samsung SHS223F 22x SATA DVD - $30 (1 year warranty?)
Seasonic M12ii 620w - $133 (5 year warranty by Corbell)
MSI 5850 - $435 (3 year warranty by Corbell, vs 2 year for Sapphire cards)
CoolerMaster Elite 310 - $65 (Need warranty meh?)
Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM - $148
Cooler Master Hyper 212+ - $59
Total cost: $1552
The reason I chose as such is long warranty length by the same distributor.
look good, thank for the build.
avoid gigabyte main board. i think they suck,
for me, i go with intel and nvidia normally. so far so good,
other cpu + gpu is ok too , i guess.
