Fujitsu HDD change

  Anyone has experience with changing HDD for Fujitsu laptop?

   

  I am trying to change the HDD for my S6520...BIOS can detect the HDD...but it seems like I always get the BSOD STOP 0x0000007B error at WIndows XP installation....I am not sure if its because the firmware restricts "non-fujitsu" HDD from being used....I put my new HDD in a casing and "chkdsk /f" it....no bad sectors...formatted NTFS...nothing wrong when I use it as external storage...

   

  Not sure if its the same as IBM laptops...cannot use "non-IBM" HDD....it will work for IBM...but will have a nag screen at every bootup.Fujitsu straightaway BSOD...

   

  Anyone?

  Go into the BIOS. I don't know the layout of the Fujitsu BIOS, so I can't quite say which menu to go to. Go to something like "Advanced", or "Advanced chipset features" or something around that line. Look for a field like SATA Mode, or HDD mode or something like that. Ensure it is set to IDE, and not AHCI. AHCI mode requires drivers to be installed during installation.
