Hi guys, kinda need some help here. Long story short, I've a 1 year old Dell Laptop and it originally came with Windows Vista Basic. About 6 months ago, I bought an original Windows Vista Home Premium CD (OEM version) from Sim Lim and installed into my 1 year old Dell Laptop. Works like a charm till now.
Now I'm selling my 1 year old Dell Laptop to my uncle who says he is ok to use Windows Vista Home Basic
The question is, I've installed the original Windows Vista Home Premium into my 1 year old Dell Laptop previously. Can I reformat my 1 year old Dell Laptop; Restore it back to factory settings (Windows Vista Home Basic) and sell the original Windows Vista Home Premium CD to my friend?
Thanks.
Any constructive comments will be greatly appreciated.

OEM copies of Windows are tied to a computer. The licence has been registered under that laptop. You can try calling Microsoft, who may reset the activation key for use on another PC.
Okay
By right, you are not allowed to sell it because you have already used it
After your friend buy and install it, he will have a problem activating it, because:
1. Since you have install it on your Dell Laptop, the Product Key is Matched to your Laptop's Hardware Configuration. Thus, if you install it on another PC, microsoft will scan and find out that the hardware config is different, and may assume that you are using it on another Computer.
2. What i will recommend you to do is to ask your friend to buy another Original Disc and reformat
3. If you want to know more about installing windows, PM me, i will try to help you earn ur money
How can I sell off my original Windows Vista Home Premium CD after restoring my 1 year old Dell Laptop back to factory settings (Windows Vista Home Basic)?
I mean will my original Windows Vista Home Premium CD work on my friend's laptop?
Thank you.
