  to all the IT gurus..

  what are the modes and subsystems of Linux OS ?

  and what CPU instruction set(s) does Linux OS use.

  i googled and googled but i cant find the appropriate answer so my last resort is .. Sgforums :(

  I believe instruction set is hardware-dependent.
