  i came across an article about 'how to avoid uploading' but cant get a grasp on what its about.

  can anyone explain?

  can a p2p software actually upload your files onto the web without you knowing it?

  Do you use any P2P software? If you don't, you just have to worry about listening to alanis morrisette songs.

  It depends on which P2P technology you're referring to. If you're talking about BitTorrent, you actually have to upload what you've downloaded (in P2P, if no one's uploading, there's no way you can download).
