I am new to SG and now checking out internet services from StarHub or Singtel (I heard M1 sucks....)
Can anyone suggest which plan I should choose? which company is better?
2 laptops and would like to share WIFI. (I saw both company provide USB mobile access, but can only be used on one machine....)
BTW,Is there any nice plan goes together with mobile phone?
Thx~~~~
if u sign up the green pipe home broadband, u can get the moblie broadband fwee.
Thank you for your suggestions. I will check it out.
Another question, I am not very familar with SG Mobile Service.
Is it a USB modem (with a SIM card in side) uses 3G mobile signal?
So I could buy an extra router like D-Link DIR-615 and setup my own WIFI network? (for my laptops/desktop and phones?)
Do you have a home phone line in use?
Then use the Red pipe... Red pipe doesn't lag during peak hours. Green pipe always chokes.
Anyone uses pac net ?
The green . . . . star logo and M1 . . . . . . . provide unacceptable bad . . . . connection and .. sevice.
If service and good connection . . . are what you want . . . . . . give the green star logo and M1 a miss, don't waste . . . . money and time ... on them.

I hear also pac is more expensive. Anyway my family uses singtel. Anyone having problems with starhub net these days ?
if u want to share the mobile network u have to get this type of mode,
http://www.aztech.com/sg/MobileBroadband_hw550-3g.html
I do not have phone line because I might move to another room...
I saw E960, E968 would work similar as HW550, but not sure if they can work with singtel USB sticks.
And I found this plan is nice:
http://home.singtel.com/bbmobile/
4M speed - $25.5/m with 2year contract
BTW, what are green pipe, red pipe, pac net, other service providers?
Thx to all~~
eu~~~just found out Singtel 4M plan has a 50G limit.....
50GB limit is A LOT dun worry
and for internet service, u shd just consider between red and green
the others are.......................... eerrmmmmmmmm.................... =X
if it's for home use only, just get home broadband or wait for the NBN
www.opennet.com.sg
starting this july.
50GB is not alot...especially if the whole family is using.
For mobile broadband, wait till 4G is out.
For wired, both singnet and starhub lag periodically.
Wait for NGBN if you want lagless network but it won't be cheap.
50gig is not enough for me, I have single torrents that exceed 53gig.
so u are the one hogging bandwidth every nite
humpf~

wow...even the ayumi discography I've dled recently also not at tat size sia~
porn much ?
Hey, I set timer on my system, 6am auto shut down mah. I was surprised there are torrents that size also. You want ayumi discography in original album? I have a whole lot stashed in boxes at the bottom of my wardrobe, that I'll never ever touch again, 180 bucks you can have the lot in whatever condition it is.
i think singtel broadband is better than starhub.
speedwise - if you surf mainly youtube or US websites, go for singtel. if you visit mainly local websites, go for starhub.
if customer service is a factor you consider, go for starhub. their technicians work 24/7.
When I first got mio, the speed was excellent, almost impressive, but as of late, I noticed the connection to get intermittent, and sluggish, so sluggish, you get cut off playing WoW, and nobody likes getting cut off while doing a raid.
Thanks to all~~~~
NGBN is attractive... but expensive too
I think I will go for Starhub :-)
And I found a D-link works with Huawei E1750 (DI-524SU-E8 )
NBN price out liao meh?
it's going to be abt the same as the avg home bb price plan tt the red and green provides.
Well....I rent a room and maybe moving....
If I get settled down, I will definitely think about it.
